Yesterday’s Post: http://www.teamliquid.net/blogs/481866-discord-rise-of-the-swarm was an April Fool’s joke that I mostly played on my gf and shared with the internet for fun.
Discord is the board game I've been working on since retiring from Starcraft in February. Discord is a deck builder most similar to Dominion, but sets itself apart by having a much bigger emphasis on interactivity. In Discord, you will always be acutely aware of the other players in the game and the pressure they're placing on your decisions.
Discord has actually been rethemed from pirates to magic. In this world, precious gems contain mana which can be used to power spells, artifacts and infuse everyday actions with supernatural strength. Every card has been playtested significantly before being released and the entire game has seen around close to 200 hours of work in the last 5 weeks. As with all card games, there is a certain degree of chance involved, but I strove to reduce additional RNG as much as possible. There aren’t any hearthstone-like cards such as Ragnaros or Unstable Portal here. Today marks a huge moment for us. Today is our first print and play release, which means that you’ll be able to download the cards, print them, and play the game on your own. All materials needed to do so will be provided via download links.
We’ve made the files available in a few different formats. The full version of Discord includes over 300 cards and we know not everyone is willing to print that many cards out. Read on to find the distribution that best suits your needs. No matter which set of playing cards you download, you’ll still need the rules and a life tracker. Every distribution is free. We are mostly looking for feedback and new eyes on the game as well as to share what we’ve working so hard on. After printing out the cards, you’ll need to cut them out. Below are some sample cards.

Life tracker: Download: https://www.dropbox.com/s/6thxnvjsa8d7fdb/lifeTrack.pdf?dl=0
Prep Slots: Download: You require 4 prep slots per player, except in the lite version which does not use them. You want to print these to be double sided with one side having the picture and the other having the non-picture side. You can also print both sides out, cut them out, and then glue them together. These cards won’t ever need to be shuffled.

The sets are arranged in order of ascending size.
Proxy Set: This set contains exactly one copy of each card. You will have to provide your own cards and designate each of your own cards to be one of the cards from our game. For example, you could place our card for Meditate on your table and then place 6 of any 1 card from your game and designate that card to be Meditate. This option will probably work with if you own a deck builder. ~40 cards

2 player lite: If you want the bare minimum cards to play and don’t want or can’t use proxies. This set contains exactly enough cards for one unique game. ~100 cards

2 player expansion: This set is for you if you liked 2 player lite and want the rest of the cards to try out everything Discord has to offer. This set will not work without the 2 player lite download. If you want to be able to play with 4 players, simply print a second copy of all the base set cards from your 2 player lite download. ~200 cards

2 player full: This includes all the various Runes to customize each game to your liking, but has a reduced base supply to fit a 2 player game. ~260 cards

4 player full: This includes all the cards plus a larger base set so you can play with up to 4 players. ~330 cards.
