The shows felt very "American" in the sense that they were focused on a kind of over-the-top-entertainment rather than putting the emphasis on the games and players. With that said the production was great of course and i'm sure it appealed to a lot of people, just not so much to me. | ||

It was a good time, though, and I had a lot of fun. Thanks for putting so much effort into making it great, Bitter, it's appreciated. (I shouldn't have paid for premium seating, god dammit. With so few people showing up I would've gotten good seats regardless) | ||

Season 4 had better production quality for sure, zero downtime was an amazing feat, I thought it was pretty far ahead of dreamhack and mlg's. But the small crowd did really lessen the experience unfortunately, the contrast between the production quality and the croud was so huge. | ||

Personally I'd like to see a 'post mortem' on the financials behind the NASL enterprise one day. How much $ did they burn through, and at what rate, and how long did it take them. | ||

In the end, I understand that the NASL Season 4 Finals were forgettable for most people. I can get why no one recollects SortOf's amazing run, or Hyun's creepy-as-fuck massage. When I think of NASL I think of what was the core of the Starcraft 2 scene in Southern California. I think I was around 19 at the time, had my first car and managed to get a discounted ticket for NASL 4 when the finals came around. I remember Demuslim playing a really great series against Violet and ended up losing 2-3, this was the time when he was in good form. Crazy PvP finals with drop micro from Liquid.Hero. So when I look back at NASL, I think of community. Having been to other Starcraft events, nothing really says home more than NASL for me. If you're interested in going back more to memory lane check out this website. It's a small collection of photos and writings centered around the NASL crew in 2013/2014.
