In case you didn’t know, it’s nearly time for the annual Extra Life Gaming Marathon to benefit Children’s Miracle Network hospitals. Every year, gamers from all over the US play video games for 24 hours straight to raise money for children with injuries, genetic conditions, and life-threatening illnesses. It’s an awesome cause and an awesome charity, which is why I’m participating this year.
However, I can’t raise this money alone. I’ll need the help of my friends, family, and fellow gamers.
I’m asking those who are able to donate a bit of money to this wonderful cause. The proceeds will benefit Cardinal Glennon Children’s Medical Center in my home of St. Louis. To donate, visit my Extra Life page and click the “Support Me” button (near my picture). It would mean a lot to have your support.
Don’t worry: I won’t ask you to donate without providing some entertainment (and some contributions of my own) in return.
For my marathon, I’ll be playing Dark Souls for the first time ever for 24 hours straight (or until I beat it… then I’ll play something else). On Friday, Oct 24 1:00pm GMT (GMT+00:00), my quest to complete Dark Souls and raise a ton of money to help kids battle illness begins. I’ll be streaming the whole mad endeavor at twitch.tv/djforeclosure for the entire long day. I’ll also be donating $1.00 for each time I die in game.
This Friday, I will die so that others may live.
I hope you’ll tune in and watch for a bit of my DS noob shenanigans, and I’d appreciate it very much if you were willing to contribute some money, promote my site/stream on social media, or host my stream if you’re not using yours. Also, since this is TL and I know there will be tons of DS players here, I’m open to any recommendations for mods or other ways to improve the long day I’m going to have for myself and any viewers kind enough to join me.
