Well JieXian answered that, I have another thing such that you make half the forum happy
Will edit into post
Oh yeah forgot about http://www.dorkly.com/picture/49304/zero-suit-samus-googles-herself
Well, an actual serious Zero Suit Samus, along the lines of your Nova here. Because hey, everyone hasn't seen a real woman before or enough cosplayers have never seen Samus before so hey.

that's ridiculously good! Since you said you're a hobbyist, mind if I ask what your experience is like? I guess how long have you been drawing, coloring etc... I also agree. Traditional media is cooler than digital

@BigFan
thx! dunno i'm drawing trashy stuff since i've been like 4 years old, but i started portraits etc with 13 or so. i'm 17 now which makes me have a rather small experience but imho learning by doing is more fun than being educated at it. and you also get better with time so you eventually aren't much worse than those who had drawing lessons whatsoever. my first colored drawing was mid 2011 if i recall correctly. traditional media is also way riskier as you can't undo mistakes, don't have many layers etc. which makes it unfair to compare those 2 media imho. thx again! this is my collection of my drawings so far, spanning from 2010 to today: http://dendareloaded.deviantart.com/gallery/
the last pages feature old work which is rather embarrassing, but it's natural to start of worse so don't be surprised :D do you draw as well?

hmm fair points. ya, you get better with time. Traditional media is scarier since erasing something doesn't make it go away lol. Your drawings look great! I can see the improvement. Any reason to draw portraits rather than I dunno, nature images or fantasy pictures? Though I have to say, you made Sarah look a bit fat here: http://dendareloaded.deviantart.com/art/Ghost-Sarah-Kerrigan-198842024 lol
Well, long story short: I took visual arts class back in high school which was a long time and loved to draw but since then, I haven't drawn anything. This is the only thing I've drawn in > 5 years lol: + Show Spoiler + It was for a birthday but I had to cut the text before uploading since it had names and such. I think the scan kinda caught all my mistakes though it didn't catch all the shading which is admittedly something that I can't do well. I've been meaning to get back into drawing but I'm usually busy with other stuff and end up not having enough time to do it. That and I know that I'm so terrible now so I end up postponing it day to day ><; I've been thinking of starting with characters to at least get my dimensions down and "get back into it" then I can explore more stuff later on. Gotta start somewhere lol.

@BigFan yes the Kerri one is very old and one of my first portraits, that's why i redrew it to make her look less fat lol :http://dendareloaded.deviantart.com/art/Sarah-Kerrigan-408223918 I draw portraits as practice, if you asked about that. Some consider portraits boring etc (which can be true sometimes) but you first gotta learn the basics and then move on to other forms of art. Just like exercising, you start with the basic stuff first.
if you don't have the time to actually draw you can just sketch from time to time, helps alot. i sketch rarely coz i'm more into rendering that shit down detailed but sketching is crucial for becoming a better drawer. speaking of which i should start doing it too lol.

Just joking with you. Probably better than most of what I've drawn lol. ya, that's what I was asking but I figured it might be the reason Well, I should have a bit more time soon so I'm going to start drawing and just redrawing and such. lol ya, sketching is pretty nice and guess not as bad if you make a mistake with traditional drawings.

it looks a bit more pink on this photo, but i made it pink as the bakcground is purple and the overall lighting is purple/pink. true, good luck! i'd start with sketching of settings (rooms etc) and then face,s body anatomy etc.

oh ok, ya, I see the purple now that you mention it. hmm I guess, we'll see

Surely a bit late, considering the fact that blizzcon is already over, but i started reworking this piece a bit as i felt unhappy with the facial expression and the lightening. also started work on the background, i want nova to blend a little bit better with that blue/purple color scheme blizz had for their poster. sorry if it's not worth being mentioned but i felt like sharing. any criticism is welcome c:
edit: picture is in spoilers as it may be a bit big
