Shellshock plays Starcraft: Birthday Report

Happy Birthday Shellshock!

FYI This is just a long blog with a bunch of pictures of me and Shellshock failing at SC2. Neither of us are very good but I hope you enjoy them!

I know on TL it doesn't say it's his birthday anymore but in his timezone it still is. In honor of the birthday of the guy who USED to do a bunch of SC2 LR's and now just spams to further increase his lead in post count on TL and sometimes does his job as a moderator I think, I've decided to do some recaps of some games of Starcraft II that Shellbot has played both with and against me. It is worth pointing out that Shellbot is at 7 wins and 2 losses against me in 1v1 to my eternal shame. Let's get to it.

The First 1v1s

To say that I started my 1v1's against Shellshock poorly would be an understatement. Here are the results of our first four games.


Shellshock 1-0



Shellshock 2-0 BROODLORDS?!

The Tournament Matches!

Shellshock and I were in the same Ro16 group in LRSL NA. We would meet in the loser's match and the miracle would happen. + Show Spoiler +

Game 1



All of this was happening at the same time. Shellshock drops and multitasks like MMA.


Multitasking not necessary! Darkhorse gets a shit ton of banelings and ultras and a-moves over widow mines


Sweet, sweet victory. 4-1

Game 2

I went with a tried and true classic strategy in Game 2


NANIWAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA


Predictably, this didn't work and NesteaShellshock wins. 5-1

Game 3

I don't like talking about Game 3 but here is the end result


I swarmhost like a non-EU zerg and Shellshock goes carriers better than $O$. Shellshock wins 2-1 and beats me yet again. I left out the part where I lost two bases to DT's at the same time for obvious reasons. 6-1

The Random Grudge Match

Shellshock challenged me to another random grudge match a week or two ago. Game one was on the best map ever: Neo Arkanoid. Keep in mind I was a nervous wreck because of the threat Shellshock said at the beginning of the game:


Looked like a fairly standard TvZ until Shellshock decided to go full TSL.




After barely holding these two Nyduses, I decided to try to push. While my army was halfway across the map: Nyduses 3 and 4 went down.




I did what anyone would do in that situation.


Fuck it... BASETRADE


We each pick new corners

Shellshock set up another nydus in the bottom left to kill my new base before my army could get there



But based Arkanoid had other plans


If you didn't know all the rocks explode on Neo Arkanoid at 18 minutes game time, which allowed my army to get there in time

Then Shellshock committed the cardinal sin.


MOVE COMMAAAAAAAAAAAAAAANDDDDD!




Shellshock gets angry and leaves even though he has 39 workers and four hatcheries to my one CC and four workers. He might've been able to come back but that's rage for you. Darkhorse wins! 6-2

We moved on to another game which for some reason we played on Metalopolis... I of course did what every terran should do on that map.



This was before he scouted it. HOW DID HE KNOW?!



That didn't end well... 7-2

True Unholy Alliance: Darkhorse and Shellshock 2v2

Shellshock and I decided to play a few 2v2's. Here are some highlights.


Shellshock winning 1v2 with just blink stookers


Those guys said Shellshock was shit for "rushing" for his blink stalker attack on 3 bases. True story.


I built 4 lings and Shellshock made some reapers. This was enough to win the game apparently

We also killed some new guy's SC2 passion apparently TT

There were more but image upload limit on TL is killing me right now and I don't feel like waiting another hour for more uploads. Just trust me when I say that Shellshock got rekt when he got protoss by a bunch of lings and then tried to Soul Train at 12 minutes and died horribly. Good times.

BONUS: Shellshock = best 4v4 cannon rusher
