Yes, we all know how rubbish the game is, but I think it's fair to say it's a good way of determining the best players of a season.

I've skipped full backs, o-line and special teams because I don't really care enough to know about them in-depth.

Quarterbacks
Peyton Manning - No brainer.
Drew Brees
Philip Rivers - Re-surged under the new regime of Mike McCoy.
Tom Brady - Looked like awful crap in the first few weeks, but has found his stride as the season has progressed.
Cam Newton - Has shown this season to be 'the' franchise QB of the Panthers, leading them to a most likely play-off berth.
Russell Wilson

Running Backs
LeSean McCoy - Has had an injury-free season and is a dynamic playmaker in Chip Kelly's offense.
Jamaal Charles - Like McCoy, has been mostly injury-free and is a workhorse for the Chiefs.
Matt Forte
Adrian Peterson - Could have the most yardage for a RB coming off a 2000+ yard season.
Knowshon Moreno - Set out to prove everyone that he isn't a bust, and has done so.
Marshawn Lynch

Wide Receivers
Calvin Johnson - No brainer.
Demaryius Thomas - Has shown his full potential under Peyton Manning.
Brandon Marshall
Josh Gordon - Can produce even with the shittiest quarterbacks.
Alshon Jeffery - Has flourished under Marc Trestman.
AJ Green
Antonio Brown - Surprisingly filled Mike Wallace's void nicely.
Dez Bryant

Tight Ends
Vernon Davis - CK's go-to guy.
Jordan Cameron - Broken out this season.
Julius Thomas - As above.
Jimmy Graham - Solid as always.

Defensive Ends
Robert Quinn - Just has been a sack machine.
Mario Williams - Can play both 4-3 DE and 3-4 Rush LB in the Bills hybrid system.
Chandler Jones - One of the more under-appreciated players of the Patriots defense.
Muhammad Wilkerson - Somehow can make sacks happen in the 3-4 DE position.
Cameron Jordan - Flourished under Rex Ryan.
J.J. Watt - Still solid despite the Texans poor season.

Defensive Tackles
Jason Hatcher
Jurrell Casey
Marcell Dareus
Gerald McCoy
Dontari Poe - Arguably the best 3-4 NT in the league.
Sheldon Richardson

Inside Linebackers
Vontaze Burfict
Kiko Alonso - Probably Defensive Rookie of the Year
Luke Kuechly
Derrick Johnson

Outside Linebackers
Lavonte David
DeAndre Levy
Thomas Davis - Has done very well after coming off yet another ACL surgery.
Alec Ogletree
Robert Mathis - Has become a solid rush LB in Pagano's 3-4.
Justin Houston

Cornerbacks
Alterraun Verner
Richard Sherman - Probably the best shutdown corner in the NFL with Revis fading due to the Buccaneers misuse of him.
Aqib Talib - Has impressed trying to secure a meaty contract.
Joe Haden
Charles Tillman
Patrick Peterson - Quickly becoming a proven shutdown corner.
DeAngelo Hall
Dominque Rodgers-Cromartie - May surpass Champ Bailey as the top corner in Denver.

Safeties
Mark Barron
Major Wright
Earl Thomas
Tyrann Mathieu - Like in college football, just makes plays. Can line-up anywhere in the secondary.

Your defensive picks are simply solid, not a ton to argue with there. Maybe Eric Berry from KC for safety, and as much as I hate to admit it Terrell Suggs should be looked at for OLB.

You have all the right QB's. Stafford's stat line is frankly a lot more impressive than Cam's, but I guess you have to look at the win/loss column. I feel like Reggie Bush deserves votes at RB but I'm not sure who you eliminate from your list to vote for him. I'd like to see Andre Johnson go at WR, given the horrible situation he's in and he's still 3rd in the league in yards (CJ and Josh
Gordon).
I'd like to see Tony Gonzalez make the pro bowl in what may be his last season, but it's hard to justify it even though he's having a pretty good season. I will point out that Gronkowski is top 10 in every statistic after missing the first 5,6 weeks of the season? Overall good picks.

I'd put Stafford in over Rivers and you have to put Gronkster in at tight end.

How close would you be to putting Alfred Morris on your RB list? Most 20+ yard runs this season, 2nd highest YPA behind Demarco Murray, 4th in yards overall at 996. Just a little short in the TD department with only 6 because Shanahan keeps putting in other RBs to snipe them for whatever reason.

Alfred is awesome but not nearly as versatile or well rounded as the other guys this season. He only has 50 yards receiving for the entire year (27 of which came this last week). A player like Moreno for example has nearly 400 receiving yards.

I believe Tamba Hali and Kam Chancellor currently lead the voting at their respective positions, but overall this looks like a decent set of picks. Rivers might have a difficult time winning any popularity contests though.

I the only one I really disagree with is Tom Brady. If you take the names away and look at the numbers alone, I dont think this is a pro bowl year for him.

Considering his limited playing time (and take away the dallas game) can I hear a vote for Nick Foles? anyone? Anyone? Buehler?

Brady had a rough start, but his last ~5 games have been excellent. He outplayed Manning in their matchup, and looked surgical against the Panthers.

As far as Foles, he hasn't really hit a good secondary yet. Sure he's a good QB and his Raiders game was spectacular (although I think it was a bit of a fluke) but I don't consider him pro bowl caliber. Maybe that's just personal bias. I dunno I live in Philadelphia I should probably think he's great.

I still think Antonio Gates needs to be on the TE list. With Rivers coming out strong he has the second most receiving yards of all TE and he's still Rivers go-to guy in a pinch.

Do you even watch football games? Brady torn up two of the league's top defenses in the league in recent weeks (Pittsburgh and Houston). You could include panthers in the mix too but it was the patriots who shoot themselves in the foot in that game.

Maybe it's because I'm getting old and maybe its's because i haven't followed the nfl as closely these past two years, but man, i barely know like half of those guys on that list. It really seems like the nfl has gotten a new generation of talent to replace the past ones. For qbs, you still have the usual suspects like manning, brees, brady, but now there are these new guys like luck, wilson, cam, rg3(before this year), kaep(same as rg3) and even half decent guys like tannehill. Man, i'm still used to seeing the "diva" receivers like ochocinco, randy moss, owens. On defense, its even worse. at DT, i don't really know anyone except the guy that played for bama, at DE, i know jj watt was good last year and mario williams was that guy that was chosen over reggie bush back when reggie bush was hyped to be like the next barry sanders. linebackers, i'm still used to seeing urlacher, lance briggs, etc. i still remember brian dawkins, ed reed, polamalu at safety.

damn, i feel so old.

Pittsburgh and Houston are not top defenses anymore.
Either way, it's amazing how Brady year in, year out, has done well with new receivers.

Because it isn't just about pure numbers. Look at the receivers he is throwing to. And no Hernandez and Gronk just got back. His numbers are fine considering.

... really? questioning if I watch pro football, followed by claiming that Houston and Pittsburgh are top tier defenses? cmon.

Edit: also I cant help but throw this in, do with it what you will: Tom Brady and Nick Foles have the same number of touchdown passes this year, Nick Foles has 8 fewer interceptions and 10 fewer turnovers I believe. Nick Foles has had much less playing time.
Just sayin.

I think you just answered your own questions though. Foles has not played nearly enough to actually show what he's worth. If he someohow continues to put up the same numbers next year after defenses have got some tape on him (I highly doubt it) then sure he's an easy pro-bowl pick. But right now he's just another flash-in-the-pan that defenses haven't had the time to figure out yet.
