I really have no reason to make this blog, other than to really just talk about how awesome WCS EU has been. The two seasons done by WCS EU has probably been the most exciting SC2 events I've seen yet. Hell, it's even more fun to watch than a lot of Brood War events.
The casting team even better than the Koreans casters and commentators in my opinion. Kaeleris and Apollo has been consistently awesome. Their chemistry just works and I think they hit nearly every trait I want in a casting team. They're also more casual than the formalness of Korean casting so it's extremely refreshing too. They just seem really comfortable. And people like RedEye is just a great MC.
I talked with a few friends about how much I liked season 1, and they talked about how "there isn't a storyline" and I disagreed with it a lot. It doesn't need to be a Jangbi on Jin Air OSL to be a storyline -- I think WCS EU did a good job highlighting a lot of aspects and creating hype and stories -- for example, the ForGG vs Lucifron, they just did a great job highlighting how good all of them were at TvT, did it in a way that constantly created hype, played off the Korean vs Foreigners card well. And the LLWWW also was pretty awesome. I wish I wrote this blog when I meant to so I could go into more detail on this aspect, but oh well.
I'm really excited to see the WCS EU S2 final. All I know is I haven't been this excited for a SC2 event, well, in forever. Yay.

I agree, if only the race diversity would be a bit better. 6/8 are Protoss. ugh.
Also, no MVP and no Stephano is a loss i feel, but I am still pretty excited for it.

Before we got WCS I wished that we foreigners could get our own GSL. I was envious of koreans having their mega-league that decided who was the best. Here we had to make do with smaller tournaments that not everyone attended and then a few really huge ones that you always wished would come a bit faster. Now we have our GSL! (also missed the preparation times for players) Everyone is in it so we see who is doing better regularly. It is sent during a time of the day when I can watch it (the majority of people probably can't devote a few hours around 11 to watching the real GSL) with production made for a language that I understand! All the dreams are coming true, we have our own GSL. The koreans in it help show at what level it is compared to the korean scene-not bad! The players seem evenly matched against the likes of MC and MVP (champions in slight decline). Which is amazing.
I have such admiration for MVP. Wow. and life. That is probably the only sad part about WCS EU. We will never again see MVP in a code s final.

Better storyline if a Vortix or MMA decides to make it far.

I agree. I am loving WCS EU a lot right now. The casters are great, the games have been memorable, and the tone set by the stage, audience, casters, and players is perfect.

Tbh, I am really starting to like PvP. It is starting to become one of the best matchups in HotS. With the Photon Overcharge, the defending Protoss has an even greater defender's advantage. It promotes macro play and macro games. PvP is no longer silly one base cheeses or 4 gate rushing anymore.

As with all things gaming related I do not get to see much and play even less these days.(unless its getting that elusive star coin in a particular lvl of WII U's Super Mario Bros for my son)
That said, I have managed to watch quite a bit of the WCS EU games and they have been not only some really good games but I agree the casters, Redeye, and everyone else behind the scenes have been doing a terrific job.
Better than BW .... I am not too sure of that statement but these games coming from the EU are getting pretty close.
Thank you all for working so much for our viewing pleasure!! And as soon as I can figure out a way to do balloons and be at the events I will!!

Haha, perhaps you're right. But i think it's best to think positively based on what we have (which I still think has great potential)
Resurrection of MMA or MC would be a great story line, or if Vortix ZvPs all the way up to the finals and wins, then that'll add on to a great storyline for when he faces a protoss in the world championship, for example. There's also Naniwa and Grubby, The fact that HasuObs has been doing terrific recently would also be interesting.
Tons of options, and I feel like WCS EU are going to be the team that's going to make these things shine.

I do like that there are so many matches to watch!

I totally agree. Players lineup, despite all the protoss are all really awesome! We got more europeans than koreans. We got MC and MMA, powerhouses and former GSL champs We got Naniwa! We got Grubby! Fan favorite and beat out Mvp in epic series We got Welmu! showing the might of finnish protoss! SUOMI!! We got Hasuobs, Vortix, duckdeok - european scenes notable names in the shape of their lives! What more can we ever need?
I predict MMA - Naniwa finals

Yes, I've really enjoyed this season. Good SC2 backed up by good production. I'm looking forward to some good PvP, PvZ and PvT tonight. And as a good Protoss, I definitely want a PvP final. It's becoming a better and better match-up.
That said, I'd also enjoy the ironic lols of a TvZ final...

Thank you very much =) <3 WCS EU fighting!!
