I wouldn't call this the blind pursuit of pleasure. Maybe fun is the wrong word. There are a lot of people playing Starcraft right now that are frustrated with their lack of improvement, or with Sc2 in general. Something is preventing them from enjoying and getting the most out of the game. Maybe its a bad mentality, like blaming Blizzard for making IMBA units whenever they lose a game, or maybe it is a lack of understanding in some critical, basic aspect of the game, like the importance of macro. The goal is to work together to find ways that alleviate these frustrations so that more people can enjoy Starcraft. Not in a short term, "what is fun right now", but in more of a long term, "what will help players to feel awesome playing Starcraft, building self esteem through their improvement and learning to be self-critical (among other things).
I think something that I need to communicate more clearly in the OP is that JKTK is focused on helping others. While we'll be doing fun events, tournaments, etc as well as using JKTK as a network to find practice partners, the main goal is go out and find people that are struggling and offer them help. What exactly this "help" is, is up to JKTK as a whole to experiment and figure out over time.

This would have been so fun, to bad I'm on the wrong side of the Atlantic. Is there an "official" JKTK or similar for those of us on EU who want to improve with TheCore and/or TheStaircase tools? I miss someone to discuss and or practice with, someone who understands the importance (and fun) of just massively pumping units...

Yes, there is a JKTK on every server! Currently most members play on AM, but the structure is in place to build up a community on EU as well. You can be the first main EU member

@ rauk, I only come to this site to see who is streaming or catch up on sc2 news. This was one of the rare times I had to post and even then jak had to tell me to after i asked him in game.

I'm not sure why the players who are interested in joining have a low post count. Probably because its not really a competitive clan so there are less veterans (who would have been posting on TL for a while now) and more newbies. Your guess is as good as mine though

I have a low post count because I only use TL to check on TheCore thread, and now the JKTK thread. Not really anything else.

Well Pez told me about you guys and said i should join up. I always liked playing with friends more than playing with myself and a little improvement while you're doing it is never a bad thing. I may not be able to do the troll games on Wednesdays until September or October, but I'd be happy to hang out with you guys when i get online. I am Remmington #587.

So have we decided on a time and day to have a clan meeting with all the members. I haven't really had time to play Starcraft and i would like to have friendly matches against fellow clan members. Maybe we could do like a 1v1 obs with everyone?

Clan 1v1's were the other day, but I would love to do another one. Preferably on a weekend...when I'm not working, since I couldn't make the other ones.

Weekends don't work well for me, but that doesn't stop you all from getting together and having clan games together
Clan meetings are Wednesdays after the stream (4-5pm PDT)

When i went to the stream this past wednesday, the stream ended and no one was there. Where do we meet? On starcraft? Would kinda make sense. I probably wasn't thinking.

Ah well. Wednesdays so far haven't worked out for me, but I will try to get there eventually. I need a good clan run 1v1 tourny. Just let me know when the next one is Jak! :D
