I know that this seems like the ultimate "first world problem" but I find that my Das Ultimate keyboard is way too loud! It is loud enough that I'm thinking about getting rid of it since I'm pretty sure my roommate can hear it through the walls.
The keyboard is still fairly new and completely functional. I was wondering if there's any active community that I can reach out to that does keyboard swaps. I would be happy to trade this keyboard with anyone for a silent mechanical keyboard. Please let me know if there's a community like that or if anyone lives near the Bay Area, I would be happy to meet up as well.
Thanks!

You can buy rubber O-rings which can dampen them a significant amount. I assume you are using blues so there is a click and then a clack from bottoming out, the o-rings will eliminate the clack. I got mine from here: http://www.wasdkeyboards.com/index.php/cherry-mx-rubber-switch-dampeners.html.
If you are set on switching check out geekhack, I'm sure you can find someone who will be willing to switch.

Awesome! Thanks so much! I will check out the o-rings. Any tips on removing the keys...seems like quite a lot to do.

They have a keycap remover tool you can buy, before I had that I would pull them out with paperclips lol. If I were you I would try to find some o-rings of each type to try before committing to buying them (dont wanna waste 20$ lolz), I can send you a few of the blue ones if you'd like as I have extras.
+ Show Spoiler +Or just buy a pack of all 3 if you've got the cash to spare :p

Thanks, but I just pulled off a key and it's blue underneath so I think I will just get the blue pack. I will let you know how it goes!

Well the color of the o-ring doesn't correspond to the switch color :p, if you scroll down there are descriptions of what each one does and a vid.

well if you live in the bay area. wasdkeyboard office is in milpitas. the owner is pretty friendly, if you contact them and theyll probably send you some samples or you can just ask if you can pop in and try out the o rings. when i ordered my key caps there they gave me some free o rings to try out plus a free key cap puller.
not sure if i could mention another forum in here but there is a pretty big keyboard forum out there if you want to trade yours. i guess you can PM me and ill tell you =]

^ lol TL is not like that, you can certainly post a keyboard forum

This is why you don't buy blue switches! Non blues are freaking loud, but blues are designed to have audible feedback.

take a spoon and pop the keys out. aint that hard

I use WASD keyboards and I love their stuff. Megaliskuu is right about the O rings, they are definitely worth it and so is the keycap remover. Great stuff. I would suggest that you put them in asap.

The blue switches are borderline uncivilized they are so loud. I can't stand them, and thats coming from someone who owns boards with reds, browns and a Topre Realforce board....

Thanks! Do you mean it is too loud because your roommate can hear it or because it bothers you personally?

And this isn't really a 1st world problem, lot of people complain about the loud clicking. Especially co workers and ex girlfriends..
