How did he get where he is today? How did he manage to scrabble his way up the mountain of other, objectively better human beings to stand astride them like some sort of creepy, androgynous titan?
The answer, dear reader, is so simple that I promise you, by the time you've finished reading this post, even you will be able to emulate it. If you employ The SirJolt Method, I guarantee1 your success in fantasy leagues of all types.2
This. This is our ticket to victory.
The best thing you can have going for you in a fantasy league is a dark horse. What you're hoping to do here is identify a player who has been consistently underperforming until now, one you can pick up without paying through the nose... but, more importantly, one that not to many other people will think to pick. Then, you need to check what that player's FPL picks are. If they're careful, you'll need to fly to their house and take a browse through their computer, but if they're careless, they'll post a good fantasy team somewhere you can find it and immitate it.
Having never performed well before, I had a tingling premonition that this season's FPL would be TL artist Hawaiianpig's time to shine. Naturally, when I found his post listing his team, I used it as the inspiration for my own FPL team.

And so I constructed my own team.

To the untrained eye, the two might appear very similar, but they are in fact quite distinct.3
From here, all I would have to do to win would be to emulate Hawaiianpig's trades exactly. Of course, since neither of us have ever traded in any FPL we've played in, this should be a relatively easy process.
Only six points shy of first place!
By now I understand that many of you will be clamouring to see how the plan is going. Well, at the moment, I'm in position 154 on the overall FPL leader board and expect to rise to number 15 by the end of the week.
I will, of course, update this post as the league unfolds, but things are looking pretty foolproof for now.
It is my very secret hope that, without trading, I can beat my arch rival... Hawaiianpig.
1. Not a guarantee.
2. Excluding Blood Bowl. There is no method to that madness.
3. The teams are named differently, of course, but apart from that you'll note that they have different managers.
4. That is to say 15(c), there being three people at the moment with exactly the same scores. Quite how this has happened is entirely beyond me.
5. Or, more specifically, 1(a/b)
