So, I work at a bar as a cook while I attend culinary school. One of my friends today tells me to stay tonight as I was about to leave that it's her best friend's birthday and I need to stay to have at least one drink. We do karaoke on the weekend; so I wasn't that keen on staying because I hate really loud karaoke but I stayed, because, fuck it. I intended to only have one drink but I ended up staying all night. So, anyway, on to the point of our story.
I usually drink rum and coke at the bar. I'm a big fan of J&G (Jameson and Gingerale) or Ginger ale and goose. We don't have gingerale at our bar, however. Rum and coke seems to be pretty OK, so that's what I go with at our bar. Tonight, however, as I'm about to get my second drink, my friend's friend (who's birthday it is) says that I need to drink 7&7 (Seagram's 7 Whiskey and 7 up) becuase, actually, Rum and coke is a girly drink and I need to drink something more manly.
So, I ended up drinking 7&7 all night.l like the drink (I think I'm actually genetically predisposed to liking whiskey), but that's not the point. Rum and coke is a girly drink!?!!?!?! WTF. I wouldn't have paid it any heed if it was actually a guy telling me that it was girly, but this was a girl telling me my drink was too girly. I started to doubt myself.

I might be drunk right now. That's not the point. The point is that I object to rum and coke being called girly, and I apparently don't feel confident because I'm creating a thread on TL to ask other people's opinions. We won at Euchre 2-1 so that's probably points against use because I was too sober.HOLY SHIT, I even spelled Euchre right. FUCK

Those aren't girly drinks, they're just alcoholic drinks. I drink vodka tonic at parties and clubs, but otherwise mostly just beer. I would classify girly drinks as fruity drinks, or anything colourful and bright. Vodka tonic, 7 and 7, rum and coke and similar drinks are kind of in between. If it comes in a normal glass, and it's a normal colour, it's just a normal drink.

I drink whisky but i mostly drink it straight. I do have beer but if i'm in the notion of it.
When at home i do drink smirmoff ice, such a nice drink  But i'm not willing to pay for it as it so ridiculously expensive

I work as a cook at a restaurant that has a bar, so I guess that's similar enough. I don't subscribe in any drink being inherently girly or manly. Except vodka and cranberry. So I think it's fine, but there are always those who consider anything other than straight Jameson to not be hairy enough. Personally, I pretty much stick to beer. :/

Who gives a fuck if it's a "girly" drink or not. Drink what tastes good. Alcohol is the same shit regardless of the glass it comes in.
Last time I was drinking a vodka mudshake, my friend asked me why I drink girly drinks. I told him it's because I'm comfortable enough with how big my dick is.
Drinking gross shit because it's gross shit makes as much sense as breaking your hand punching a brick wall to prove how manly you are.

I hate beer and I hate straight alcohol. I can lick a marker or drink Peroxide and still feel equally repulsed (ok, maybe more).
When you order a girly drink (we're talking cocktails), you order the girliest one and ask for extra damn cherries. Yesterday I had two drinks and they were blue and one had coconut juice in it. I asked for extra cherries and stuff on it. They made it sour and taste like Kool-Aid. I drank them both in this plastic martini and tomorrow I'll post the pic for you.
I love Smirnoff Ice because it tastes like a stronger Sprite and I like Midori with Sprite and Lime juice.
I'm sure you're living your life not by stereotypes or decision that assert your masculinity, don't go out of your way to make sure people know you're a man. Just flash your dick to remind them who's alpha if there's any doubt.

Rum and coke is not girly. It's modern grog, the drink of pirates, and pirates are sure as hell not girly. (Okay, maybe if they're played by Johnny Depp. But not even then, because Johnny fucking Depp.)
A "girly" drink to me would be more along the mudslides, appletinis, Zima or similar crap, wine, wine coolers, excessively fruity concoctions, something that is sweet, bright colors, and in which you can't taste the alcohol.
Also, for "other" answer I gave with regards to what I normally drink - a dark beer, the aforementioned rum & coke, Jaeger, various and sundry whiskeys. (Whiskey is, of course, the manliest of the manly. Just look at the GD studio for confirmation.)

as someone mentioned before, the most girliest mixer drink is probably a vodka and cranberry. but i'd always get that shit if i was with a chick.
my personal drink of choice is usually a jack and coke, though.

The only things I would call girly are beverages with less than 5% alcohol in them and more than 20% sugar (unfermented, cus beer is not girly).
Then again, the whole concept of girly is just... strange. I don't know any girl who drinks that shit :>
