Hey guys!

I did another unboxing that might interest the streamers and Skype chatters! I replaced my Microsoft LifeCam HD with the Studio that cost around $20 more. Check out the unboxing and review to see the improvements!

True 1080p webcam for the streams... epic!

Here is the video:

Here is a VOD from my stream using the new webcam:
http://www.twitch.tv/tarababcock/b/372920953

I also have a handcam now! Haha!

GLHF! <3

A nice upgrade for just $20 more I would say. Overall improved, specially skin color though. I can actually see your tan lines =P

Grats.

I wish everyone would make a thread for when they bought something slightly better than before just to promote their stream.

Nice upgrade, in part because the new one is great and in part because the old one was really terrible in my opinion. Cheers, though color still sometimes seems a bit off.

Yeah, just this. I don't really know the reason you posted this except for basically advertising your streaming. :p Even though the camera looks like a decent upgrade, it's.. not a threadworthy if you ask me.

That is ridiculous. I do YouTube unboxings and reviews, and when it pertains at all to streaming, eSports, or even just something interesting, I post it in my blog. MY blog. This isn't even a huge post on the forum, even though it could and should be.

If anyone else did this, no one would bitch. I make videos like this to give opinions on products and help consumers and create decent, interesting content. It's especially relevant since I have one of the most high quality streams on TwitchTV and get asked all the time about my specs, peripherals, settings, and graphic design.

Yeah, still playing with it. That's the nice thing about the LifeCams. They offer "TrueColor" options for people who just want plug-and-play, and then actual settings for those who have personal preferences on the look, feel, and tone of their recordings.

Still working on color settings!

I agree. I had this 1080p stream with high quality overlays and extreme graphics, then I had this -720p fuzzy webcam! >.<

Thanks!

While that's obviously true, it really seemed a bit too promoting to me and too litte of everything else. ^^ That may just be me, and you shouldn't take offense so quickly to what someone fairly thinks about your post. I was just stating it seemed a bit too advertising to me, most of all. Thanks for your response nonetheless.

I am entirely sick of people questioning my purpose for being into gaming, or doing tech/gaming/eSports related things.

Explain how it promotes my stream other than having a link from a broadcast that is completely relevant due to the fact that the way the webcam compresses using the webcam's software is vastly different than how it will render on stream using commercial software, which I specifically addressed in the video--if you watched it.

I believe my content deserves viewing, and the chance to be interesting and helpful to people. I hope everyone who creates something feels the same. I'm sorry if what I am replying with seems to be too "defensive", but you can imagine I am sick of the whole "you are in this for money" bullshit.

Maybe I would be less annoyed if I was making a ton of money at the expense of poor "nerds" with good intentions.

I got 8 extra Twitch followers since I posted this... and I streamed right afterward. If this is my strategy to lure people to my "over-sexualized" stream, I am doing it wrong, and I don't learn from my mistakes. >.<

Double Tara! Mmmmmm...

Anyways, I don't see any advertising here... It's an unboxing video, and a good one at that. I've never seen someone show 2 cameras side by side like that, and i'm sure it would help me decide which to buy if I were looking.

looks quite goods but I don't really like the design of the webcam, looks like a security camera lol (I know, it doesn't matter...but having that thing pointing at my face will make me feel unease lol)

At least it has a cover so you can cap it off after stream or chat. As I joked on stream, LoL players really need to have this and make a conscious effort to do this before they masturbate at their computers or get it on with their girlfriends. -.-

I actually once had a guy who could somehow use my webcam when he wanted, and got all my passwords and tried to sell this on the internet. Pretty gnarly virus. :-O

You may get entirely sick of people questioning your purpose, but you forget the most important thing about being an online personality. The way you portray yourself, and the way you deliver content attracts a certain public that may respond in a way you do not like. While the choice is yours to fill in your stream the way you like, for some people it undermines exactly what they hope to change.

Take this as general remarks, not as personal critism.
An example is Day9. I really like watching him but after seeing so much of his video's he is becoming a little too 'tic tac toe' in his approach of explaining things. I am very happy with what he does, do not get me wrong, but I feel that too much of Sean (how's that possible one would say) would diminish my desire to keep watching him. That's his choice, he keeps a lot of people watching exactly BECAUSE he portrays himself that way, while some people are turned off.

Deal with it, learn to grow from critism and don't let people dominate your mindset. You do what you like, even if it is something others do not like. If you'd be totally off the mark your viewercount would drop anyways.

Myself, I don't watch your VOD/Streams because :

1) I stopped watching most VOD/Streams due to time management
2) I feel that the way you express yourself doesn't feel well with how I'd like to see the community to be growing.
3) From the video's that I do see, I get a feeling that your eSport personality, and the personality you have for your other job are too mixed up for me to feel comfortable or be able to take you 200% serious. That's a personal preference, I've voiced this before through PM and forums and I'll leave it at that.

I know my words hold little value to you, but hopefully this gives you a little bit of an idea how my views are on this matter.

Edit:

I've got a lot of negativity here, but we shouldn't be all negative, now should we?
There are some things I actually do appreciate about your video's whenever I do see them, which basicly are the amount of effort you put into them, aswell as a pleasant voice which is enjoyable to listen to. The enthusiasm in your voice keeps me sticking to listen (even if I don't watch) and you still manage not to ramble incoherently as some people do when they are psyched out for something they really like to do. This mainly comes from this video, and aside of the reservations I sent you in PM earlier, I believe you're building something good here.

There is a difference between having an opinion and not liking me and not liking me based on an incorrect assumption. What that is is just making a retarded statement like, "she doesn't actually play games". At that point it goes beyond opinion and becomes just fucking retarded. I could care less if someone, like you for instance, just didn't agree with something I factually am or something I am factually doing.

Stuff like "too much pink on your stream" or "I only watch streams with GM level play" are good reasons not to watch or to "dislike" me and what I am doing.

I appreciate your analysis and opinion, though. I'm sorry you feel that way about how I present myself.

GLHF! Thanks for the positives as well!

I am however quite curious how you'd do in an environment like IPL/MLG as caster, provided you keep improving and gaining knowledge.
