Oh, and the mysterious pod in fact contains a clawed and wormlike biological weapon, probably crafted by some scary higher-than-we're-used-to tech level transhumans.

I think Lucas mentioned something about having like a month of one shots; which iirc people thought was a good idea. Beyond that, we should also discuss who will be GMing the next campaign.

I have some ideas for Continuum, but i think we might wanna test our acceptance of bookkeeping for that one first. I also have a very vague idea for a game based on Timecube. Also, watch and be amazed by the new and improved totally not Gonzo:

So, regarding SPACE!. I have been thinking a bit here. Basically, we kind of have a rather big problem. We have no idea what is going on, we are not even really sure who the enemy is at this point. In my opinion, we have two different ways to go from here: Either we could assume that whatever is happening is mainly focused on voidseeker, and try to find out more about it in the hopes that that will somehow solve our current problem of 10Mcreds bounty, probably by trying to infiltrate Prometheus in some way. This has some disadvantages, mostly because we have no idea what Prometheus actually does, and where they even are. The other is using our new faces to go back into imperial space, and investigate the shit at Hechi Because apparently there is something really weird going on. I am to this point not really sure why i got backstabbed. There are some assets we have that could help us with this. Cassandra as an AI has the big advantage of being rather hard to corrupt, at least if we assume that she is reasonably well built. Disadvantage is that we have basically no way of reaching her, and to get some assistance we should be able to convince her that whatever is going on is to the detriment of the empire. If we could get her on our side, that would be a major advantage to help solve this problem. There might also be some problems if she is coded not only to aid the empire, but also has some additional specifications like personal loyalty to whoever. Alexa could be helpful or hate us, and she might still be in some sort of intelligence position, depending on how good the communication on Hechi is and/or how deep the thing, whatever the thing is, goes. Or she might be in trouble and require help. I have no idea what Wesleys goals are, but i am pretty sure that the last thing he wants is imperials getting up in his grill, so he'd probably rather have it if we don't lead imperials to his cozy operation here. Maybe that could be used to an advantage, but that is a very dangerous game. He could at any point decide that the best way to deal with this is to have us delivered to some imperial so we are no longer a problem. Now, the useability of our options hinge on what is actually going on. Obviously Voidseeker is at the center of this stuff. Theories i have come up with so far: Some splintergroup of imperial intel wants all the cred for finding voidseeker for themselves. Someone wants to steal voidseeker for whatever reason Prometheus wants voidseeker back and has the influence to arrange this stuff Prometheus is actually an imperial black ops thing, they are building voidseeker and want to keep it secret. (Maybe we can do some deep computer stuff on the data we got from Voidseeker?) Someone really hated Xian Ju, killed him and decided to blame it on me, and it has nothing at all to do with voidseeker. Imperial intel wants to silence everyone involved in finding out about voidseeker, even though they are not the ones building it. Voidseeker and we are an excuse for some sort of action. One of the main questions is why are we still alive. It can be assumed that the plan was already in motion when we were on board the station, but we can not ignore the possibility that the order to hide this stuff took a few days to process, and we had already left Hechi at that point. This would mean that instead of giving me a gun as a way to trick me, they actually planned on rewarding me and then changed their mind afterwards/got new orders. Or for some reason we are needed alive rather than dead, maybe to lead them to something or other, or as a scapegoat, but we could also do that while dead. Maybe as a justification for some sort of action? "Imperial high traitors are hiding in 0506 among the free trading scum, we gotta send in the fleet to clean that shit up"?

I first thought there must be a corrupted branch of imperials taking the pod and Xian Ju just got in the way. I don't think sanctioned upstanding imperials would be psycopathic enough to try to outright kill two loyal scouts to cover stuff up. These scouts had no reason to blabber, they did their duty to the empire in seemingly every way by turning the pod in. Also if it's the empire trying to do a cover up, why would they make it public that a military project was stolen at all? And why do that while one of two scouts are still on the run, which would make him talk all the more? Nah, must be some scummy party within the imperials who decided to steal it after we left. They wouldn't give a shit about information being leaked, since they have already made off with the treasure, but having someone to frame for the crime would be very convenient. Then again, I think I remember some guys in suits being in charge of the pod when we left, so those guys or some lowely guard should have been the one getting shot in that case. So yeah, I’m not sure. Does the captain formerly known as Gonzo know of any good eggs we can even report our findings to if we investigate this? I guess we could gather evidence and present it at a trial if we turn ourselves in. But then the framers can just kill us before the trial or fabricate a bunch of crap we don't know how to defend against. Maybe we go public? Don't the people of the empire have a right to know about spooky new weapons that threaten them? Especially if they're not in true patriotic imperial hands anymore. We could also get payed a lot of money for the story... Maybe investigate -> go public -> turn ourselves in? So there’ll be a lot of interest and a lot of security for us? Maybe we can sway some witnesses to come forward if they hear about our side of the story from the media too. Anyway, leads... Finding the Pod again would help us find our accusers too. Could we, knowing what we know about the pod, trace it somehow? Maybe electronic logs with time stamps of people and objects leaving the Heichi area that someone could hack into and check up on. Maybe we can somehow physically scan areas for the specific high tech metal alloy the pod was made of if we get close to an area we suspect it might be at? Or if such scanning equipment is high tech enough maybe where it's been even? I suppose video logs of us leaving with Xian Ju alive must have been erased. Someone needs to check the recycling bin and see if they forgot to empty it after they pressed delete. Ok, maybe not that, but there could be electronic traces of tampering. Maybe we can find out who did the tampering. If it's all up to Blargo we would probably leave the past behind and walk away to be honest. Go be our new selves (not a boy band) somewhere else. But I guess we aren't going to do that. Edit: Actually I guess getting 400 K credits unfrozen would be a motivator too.

I do second the notion that if we don't fix this, we'll probably be hunted down sooner or later. By the way, have you considered switching ships while people are on the look out for Franziska? We could just shoot some more burninators, take their ship, leave our ship at a secure place and then get her back as soon as our names are cleared again.
