I really disagree with that statement. Don't know about the bourbon but if you make a sauce with red wine for example, the quality/taste of the wine makes quite a difference. Cheap wine can have to much acid or way too much sugar. It doesn't need to be really fancy stuff, but the cheapest wine can ruin a nice meal quite a bit.

holy balls this looks good. Definitely going to try this recipe sometime. Probably just use jasmine rice instead of quinoa though haha.

Bourbon is kentucy whisky, it usually taste like brown sugar, maple syrup, dark fruits, dark chocolate, spices like nutmeg and cinnamon and things like that.
Johnny Walker is scotch (from scotland) and it probably wouldnt be good for this recipe because it has a peat flavour.
Irish whisky tastes more of green fruit, almonds and soft floral things, so that wouldnt work either.

Heres a few suggestions for bourbon brands, in order of cheapest to most expensive:

1-Evan Williams, its got a sugary almost bubblegum sweetness to it.
2- Jim Beam black , its very rich and full flavoured.
3- Woodford reserve. Its pretty expensive, maybe a dumb idea.

I would try it with Jim Beam black. And hey if you dont use it all you can mail the leftovers to meeeeee!

Nice simple/simpler recipe than many others I've seen you make.

Although it's quite expensive with the bourbon marinade.

I'm wondering, what made the chicken go red like that?

Thanks for the info!
I've just started the marinating process. I used Jameson since thats what I usually keep at home, and that marinade taste like HEAVEN right now.. Will let the chicken marinate over night and hope the results gets good! =)
