Today something quite weird happened,
I was cooking some food when one of my flat mates approached me, the only guy in the flat whom I don't know so well. He suddenly said" Hey, I saw one of your videos on Youtube. They were embarrassing, you should take them down."
I was like "... What? Why were they embarrassing?"
He answers" Well I dunno, never mind forget it" and left.
Needless to say, I was really really pissed off.
I totally understand a person coming to me and criticizing anything I do. I'm all for knowing what I'm not doing well and how I can improve upon it. That to me is essential in everything, it's part of figuring out how to improve in virtually anything. But to come to me, face to face, shit all over what I like to do, and give me no fucking reason as to why you are saying this really REALLY gets on my nerve.
I just had to put this somewhere to vent away.

After watching your videos, it is inevitable that you are going to attract a certain amount of fame and fortune. I think your "flat mate" wants to discourage your success because then he has to search for a new room mate when you are in the penthouse suite at an exclusive club.

Maybe he thinks its ridiculous to post videos of yourself being over-enthusiastic for video games when your in your 20's.
I know alot of the worlds population do.
We dont (TL, gamers) but THEY do.

Just laugh it off, worst thing you can do is let it get to you. Your videos are bound to seem strange and foreign to some people, just let it roll off your back.
Do you still write articles for that middle-eastern gaming site? (sorry for blanking on the name...)

The got bought by IGN to become IGN Middle East, I still freelance for them every once in a while. But I now run my own personal blog and channel so I deal with publishers and distributors directly for reviews and stuff  .

Everything I write is in English. I write for the English version on IGN Middle East, there are two sections, one Arabic and the other is English. I know, its confusing haha.

haha, that would be pretty aggravating. Good opportunity to learn how to deal with irritating people though...the guy isn't worth wasting time thinking about. Lots of people like your videos, undoubtedly there are going to be some who don't, no matter who it is. I would just practise letting go and ignoring these kinds of pointless, negative opinions. Have to build up some inner strength to not let it affect you too much.

He was probably upset about something in his own life and was taking it out on you, you are contributing to the gaming community with your videos and even tho I've never seen them before, I think that's awesome, i know it can be aggravating especially if you live with this guy but just try and remain calm and move past it, if he is a good friend i would suggest talking to him about it but if he is just an acquaintance that may only serve to exacerbate the problem.
TLDR dont let the haters get to you they are everywhere.
Edit: i really understand where you are coming from nothing pisses me off more than someone making a snide ambiguous comment and then just ending the conversation. I had a similar situation last night but with a good freind of mine I told him how i felt once i calmed down and he apologized and admitted he was being rude, but again this might not work if he is just a flat-mate.

hahah who cares do you know the guy? If you don't know him well why do you even care what he says, he's just someone who u don't have to see again and has ZERO impact on your success.
In fact you can feel free to piss the fuck out of him knowing he has 0 power over you as well.
