This is the second time DH has appeared on my list. This song has been hitting me deep lately, so I have to put it up here. Casey does a great job of using the triplets in the song to his advantage while using them part of the lyrics. Another reason why he's one of my favorite song writers.
Time by Pink Floyd
Who doesn't like Pink Floyd? Especially this song or even this album. Easily one of the greatest song not only BY Pink Floyd, but of all time in general. I find myself being extremely attached to the lyrics in this song "The sun is the same in a relative way but you're older, Shorter of breath and one day closer to death. Every year is getting shorter never seem to find the time.."
I Wasn't Prepared by Eisley
Now, i know most internet users are scared to hear what teenage girls will do when given a guitar, piano and a microphone. But this band does a great job of taking all of these things, twisting them just a little, and coming out with eerie harmonies laid over simple chord progressions. Followed up by enchanting lyrics, It's not hard to smile while listening to Eisley.
This song in particular has some really simply things musical wise, but I love their song writing style and harmonies. And their use of atmospheric noises such as certain guitar tones or little piano parts really help fit the mood of their music.
EDIT: This song speaks to me right now more than I would ever imagine.
