Wanting to start up

For years and years, I've been watching game-plays of a wide variety being posted on the internet and I want in on the fun. The only problem is, I have no idea on how to start, due to my lack of money. My idea is to post videos of my gameplay, (various games), on Youtube in hope that viewers would learn why I enjoy gaming so much and hopefully start the adventure that is video games themselves. I have no intention to profit from this, instead to entertain and 'make peoples day'. But again I have this problem of not knowing how to start; where do I get free/cheap capturing software in full hd?

I hope that I'll get there eventually but in the mean time it is only a dream waiting to be completed.

xsplit for recording hundred something bucks for licence
i5 preferably i7 processor 300 bucks
thats for hardware software

Fraps 30 USD
and an i5 2500k would be more than enough. Then get the free windows movie maker and you are set. Doesn't really take much to do.

Does anyone know what you would use to convert the video to after using Fraps?

I record my own playing using FFsplit. I've found that it blows xsplit and fraps out of the water for local recording purposes.

I have a 2gb virtual ramdrive which I record to. I record at 75% resolution, 60fps, and you couldn't tell me whether it was recording or not it's so smooth. I've never had anywhere near this level of smoothness with fraps or xsplit.

For reference I have an i5 2500k, 16gb ram and a very old graphics card (3870).
