I made this blog fro the purpose of finding out ways of meeting new peopl. lately I have been adding people on facebook and talking to a few of them. It has worked for the most part but I cant feel like feeling like a creep saying hi out of nowhere. Especially since they don't know me at all. So I come to ask Team liquid for some advice (: so Where do you guys go or what do you guys do in order to meet new people? I am looking to meet new girls most of all since I don't have any interest in the girls I have known for awhile and especially those that live in my town.

Not on the computer. Do it in life. The park, your job, a club, the bar, school?, etc. Not on the computer.

I agree with all the advices above. Especially joining some kind of club or organisation you are interested in is perfect for meeting new people with similar interests as yours.

Although, I'd like to add that getting to know people on facebook is not impossible. A friend of mine "met" his girlfriend that way. They had never seen each other before. He just saw her pic on a friend's wall, sent her a message, they talked for quite a while until they finally met and now they have been together for almost an year. I guess that's rare though

don't use internet. You'll end up meeting some 65 y.o. ex-army dude who claimed to be a young, sexually active 19 y.o.

Watch "How to Catch a Predator." Although it is fake a fuark, it should dissuade you from online...

unless you're in some small stupid town you probably can't generalise that you dislike all the girls in your town.

if you are in some small stupid town then I do feel for you :/

join a club or organisation of some sort. It doesn't even have to be something you're super into, as there are various things like running clubs where some people take it super serious and some people jog and talk. But they all will meet at a park at X time and head off and have fun and talk.

As an overall very shy man who has always found it difficult to meet new people, and especially girls, what I can say is that apart from all of the above, when the moment comes you just need to let go and just.. talk. You'll get good and bad experiences but it's the only way to achieve anything. You'll be amazed at how easy it gets once you break the initial ice. The real problem is actually going and saying something without being a total creep, and the only thing that works there, is practice.

So just go, talk.

Are you trying to meet new people to make friends, or are you trying to get a girlfriend?

If a girlfriend, you need to start the conversation to break the ice, but not in a way where it seems obvious you are trying to make a move.

If a friend, try to start a conversation by commenting on something about the person, either a trait, an object he or she is wearing, etc....and then try to relate it to something you like and see if there are any similarities.

Best of luck.
Time is money my friend.

Well I do get out quite a bit. I am a photographer fro two night clubs in San Francisco, but the down side to taht is I don't really dig the girls at these clubs. A lot of them are really shallow and half of them are promiscuous.

Just cuz you are in a small town doesn't mean you can't know everyone in it , that should be plenty lol. Plus if the people there aren't good enough, go to the nearest big city every once in a while for a club or something, you shouldn't be far, plus no matter how small there will be people with hobbies similar to yours.
User was warned for too many mimes.

Trust me my town population is 14000 I know all the girls my age, our graduating class was only 250 people. So its not hard to know everyone around here.

Yeah just don't try and meet a girlfriend through facebook. Does not work. For friends or girlfriends, it's almost always better when you meet them in real life first and even better if you have continuing real life contact. Internet just doesn't cut it.

Clubs, friends of friends, friends of acquaintances, cafes, the fucking train station ... anything but the internet, pretty much. The internet is one of those things that gives you the illusion of connection; all this without mentioning it's really easy to get drawn into someone online but then realize that you can barely talk to each other comfortably in person. This goes for both guys and gals.

Adding them on facebook is the worst thing you can do.
Maybe join the football team or something like this.

Dude. Adding people you don't know / go to school with / have at least some real world connection with on Facebook is straight up weird.

Are you still in school? If you are just get more social with people, that's easily the simplest place to get the ball rollin

Go out to random bars.

You meet the weirdest people, especially when you go alone.

One night I went out, I sat at some random bar and started talking with the people behind the bar for a bit. Eventually, some girl appeared next to me, ordering like five beer.

She wasn't all that attractive, but it was early in the night, so might as well flex them mad charms. I started talking to her and I felt like we were hitting it off pretty well. She got her five beers and then asked if I was there with anyone else, and since I wasn't I said that I wasn't, then she asked if I wanted to sit with her and her friends.

So, fair enough, I get up and follow her to some corner table where four other people were sitting.

I introduce myself, bla bla bla, I try to insert myself into the conversation as best I can for someone that they don't know. Always a big risk of joining any group, never let yourself get too excluded or you end up looking like a creeper.

So, after a few hours of drinking, they decide to go to some guys appartment and ask if I want to come along. Another good idea when going out alone, accept any offer that people make you, especially the ones that may very well end in murder or rape.

But it wasn't so bad. We just went to this guy's appartment (student, so tiny as fuck) and one of them suggested we play dungeons and dragons. Then we proceeded to roleplay dungeons and dragons until like 04:00.

I never played D&D before or since, but it was a pretty fun and memorable night.

I never saw any of them again, didn't add them on facebook either. I have met some people that I met more often, one person that I even consider a pretty good friend.

Going out alone is severely under-rated. You run into way more weird stuff than when you go out with friends.
