First off I would like to add that this is totally not like in the movies barely epic in any way.
So, story time. Well so I went to Norway to see some relatives over the winter. And there I was working in a shop. What happened was that I was working over time in the shop. Pretty quiet night there were only three people on watch. So my watch was almost finished I had already dressed up in thick clothes because it was cold outside. Was about to go, when a shady person walks in and pulls out a handgun and aims at the manager who was standing behind the counter. I was in the kitchen and the person holding the gun could have seen me but he didn't see me and my friend who was hiding next to me behind the stove.
So I wasn't exactly watching but I heard that the guy was asking for money and all of that stuff. What I knew that infront of the manager there was a gun inside the counter for these kinds of situations. So all I know is that they trade gunfire and the manager gets shot. I don't really know how that happened but okay. I don't really speak good norwegian but I could make out that he was saying that he was going to kill him for that. So I shout that he should take the money and go.
I was still hiding behind the stove. So he calls at me and tells me I should stand up from behind the stove and open the box with the money. I had the keys. So then I stand up and see that the manager is unconscious so I go open the box and that guy is clearly on meth cause he is acting really strange... So he shoots me and runs away with the cash. He hit me right in the stomach amazingly not hitting any vital organs.
The thing I remember the most is that the impact wasn't that big and that guy had a big ass pistol! I expected like a huge punch. But it like went straight through I just stood there and fell to my knees. I couldn't breathe at all, the breath is completely taken away from me. What struck me was that it didn't hurt a lot (it hurt like a motherf***er but still) All that I felt was that the adrenaline and heart were pumping like crazy. I barely noticed the pain I was just thinking about if I would survive or if the guy would come back and finish the job. My friend was calling the police meanwhile I was giving the manager cpr because he wasn't breathing and tending to his wounds.
Well all is fine now, the manager got shot three times but wasn't that severely injured. Neither was I, but he suffered way more then I did! All is fine now they caught the bastard. He was under the influence of drugs...
I might also add that in the movies they always say "It happened so fast". Well that was like the longest moment of my life... Especially when I was hiding behind the stove and he told me to stand up...
Well thanks for your time, I hope you enjoyed that horrible story! ^^

Wow. I'm glad you made it out ok and seem to find it a good story instead of something to traumatize you.
|
Your manager got shot three times, and wasn't severely injured?
You got shot, could still tend to your manager's wounds, and it didn't hurt a lot?
Sounds like the guy robbed you with a .22!
I'm glad you're fine, though.
|
Did uou learn how to perform CPR correctly? I mean, you could have crushed his ribs... Anyway, sorry for your injury.
|
Great story. And a good example of the fact that just because you are shot, it doesn't mean you just die instantly.

Adrenaline makes us capable of bizzare acts =)

And I know how to do CPR but I guess I could have crushed his ribs, I don't know... I wasn't thinking clearly and the guy wasn't breathing... So I just rushed to save him...

I'm not really good with guns, so I don't know the brand. All I know it was cow-boy'ish? And pretty big...
Lol tend to his wounds! ^^ I just did the same as in the movies they always do! ^^ took some scissors and a shirt clipped some strings and used the strips to put pressure on the wounds, didn't know what the hell I was doing and I failed kinda awkwardly... But still he and I managed to survive.

Wow that is scary. It's great that everything turned out okay in the end though.
|
just feeling around my body it's hard to believe you didn't get hit in anything vital or bones, it's such a crowded area! were you tempted to fight back or take the gun and try to shoot back?
|
not too familiar with guns, but I'm guessing the bullet type used by the robber wasn't the one that is designed to explode and fragment on impact
anyways, glad you're ok and no one died.
|
Wow. That's intense man. I hope I never find out what it feels like to get shot.
|
I am glad you and your manager weren't hurt.
Awesome story it sounds like you handled it very bravely. Very good of you to keep composure and help your manager with CPR.

No? I aint retarded... xD
Ofc I hated that guy... Even if I was in a situation where I would be aiming at him point blank I would not have taken the shot...

It went straight through me... ^^

Actually our internal organs are pretty damn slippery and often bullets and knives sometimes just glance off them.
TO the OP: I am sorry about your experience but look on the bright side. Now, you have hell of a story to tell to girls -- a motherfuckin' bullet went straight through your abdomen.

Trust me its an awesome feel. I have that achievement unlocked bro... I might also its helpful story to get going with the ladies. awww yeah... Nahh but anyways that experience was awful and you hope it never happens to you! ^^

Exactly.. There is a bright side.

When he shot you did you think you were dead at first? I have never been shot but I imagine if I was shot, I would immediately assume I was dead...
|
If you broke ribs doing CPR then you were quite possibly doing it well. The whole point is to squash the heart between sternum and spinal column.
|
Holy shit, I can't believe you would tell this story haha. I feel like that'd be something I wouldn't share on TL. That being said, you seemed super calm throughout the blog. I don't think I could find it as humorous or act so calm.
|
Are you sure that it didn't hit your head?
It would explain the series of poems.
:D
Happy that you shared this story. Cool experience to say the least

You're right, better not risk any broken ribs and let him die.
Crazy story, I am glad you are okay! Is there a lot of crime around there normally?
|

I'm still picturing you getting shot in the stomache, unable to breathe, and still giving your manager cpr. Idk how you managed to do that, or how he was ok with 3 gunshot wounds. Sick story though. Good thing you made it out alive. I wonder what will happen to the robber?

anyways, crazy story, man. glad all three of you were not harmed and the guy was dealt with

This is pretty messed up. I can't believe you're taking it so well!
I'd be a quivering mess

Eh, I dunno. Story sounds off, I don't really buy it. It's either fabricated or your story telling is a total mess.
Why were you working while you were visiting relatives? What kind of shop were you working in that had a kitchen? And the "box with the money"? I'm not saying these are unlikely, I'm saying it sounds like you made stuff up as you went along. Else you'd fill out those spaces and be specific.
Then the details. -It didn't hurt a lot, but it hurt like a motherfucker. -I just stood there, and fell to my knees. I couldn't breath and my adrenaline was pumping. All I could think about is if I'm going to survive or the guy will come back and kill me. Oh and then I gave a dude CPR. -I'm behind the stove. My friend next to me is behind the stove. I'm behind the counter. I'm behind the stove. Now I'm going behind the counter.
I dunno.

Thats crazy, glad you're okay and thanks for sharing your experience

@topic:
I imagined myself getting shot like million of times and of course I would never like to experience that for real sometimes I really really really wonder how I would feel/act.

It's always better for the bullet to go right through then stay lodged. Crazy story, glad you and your manager are alright.

Cool story, and I'm glad you're okay. When and in which town did this happen, though? I'm trying to find a news article of it, since armed robberies with shootings are so rare here.

Wow this is insane, glad you are okay though!

The reason you don't feel anything at first is because of the very dangerous situation. The pain receptors are fully functional, but your brain sets priorities to get yourself to safety first. And pain isn't helpfull with that. When you calm down, it should actually begin to hurt.
Story reads really intense though, looks like your still a bit full of it.

I dunno.
I just had finished college, so I went to relatives over the winter...
My vocabulary is off so I don't really know the right words.
Shop was selling burgers and fries chichen etc. Box with money... You know the thing that has the cash in it when you are serving customers... Thats just me saying something because I didn't know the english word for it.
What I meant by hurting a lot. Was that the pain was immense... But I didn't feel it because I was panicking thinking and trying to save the guy... My attention span was completely elsewhere...
Kinda hard to describe what was going on. Because there was so much more that happened... Like when I was going after the scissors I tripped and fell... I was the entire time behind the stove besides in the start and when he called me out then I went... The guy actually was in the store for like 10 minutes and it took the ambulance like fifteen minutes to get there because the weather was crazy and I was actually outside of town in these little.. Out in the country shops? As usual I don't know the right words... ^^

Lol... Happened almost two years ago... This aint really that a shady memory that I try not to think about... I am pretty open about it and yeah... I don't know what else to say... Its not like it happened yesterday and the first thing I decided to do was go on TL and post the story! xD

Glad, nothing serious happened and everyone survived. I hope, I never find out how it actually feels.

I can picture that as a blog.
'Guys I just got shot and I'm on the floor bleeding, what should I do?'
I'd 5star it.

I hope that dipthong got arrested and caught.

Thanks for the story. I was always curious what it felt like to be shot. Hope you are doing well.
