Now seems like a good time to write. Sitting at starbucks supporting my brutal habits of both coffee and cigarettes, i just tried to relax. I try to enjoy these moments more than anyone ever should. To think others put this sort of effort into being happy into other people, blasphemy. A few police officers had pulled over some unlucky sap. He probably had drugs. His concealed eyes and shaky smile said it all. Even from 30-some feet away I could see it in this guy's face that he knew he was fucked. Being a cop must be so easy. It got to me a bit, I drive around thinking I'm actively preventing my own tickets by keeping eye out for the police, but then i thought of my new friend. Should i make the assumption that this unlucky man was not actually unlucky, but instead, a disgustingly arrogant human being who drives around blasting bob marley whilst hitting a j and sniffing coke? I really doubt it. It's so easy to think we have control over situations when we really dont. The things that catch you off guard is all that counts.

Hopefully this isn't too pointless, even for a blog. Anyway, thanks for reading. I'm trying to get better at this.

Be careful. Relinquishing control too easily is a form of control as well. Be sure not to oversimply something to the point of blissful ignorance.

Maybe your friend was cautious AND arrogant. For instance, maybe while shooting up on heroin he would listen to his music at a moderate volume to minimize attention from local authority.

Alternative plot line:
The man who was arrested was a hit man planning to drive his car through the starbucks window to assassinate you (the future president) but right as he was about to commit to his plan some disguised terminators (your body guards from the future) came and stopped him.

Ponder this for a bit, you may get hit with a revelation (or a minivan, there are still more assassins out there!).

Maybe his nervousness came from the new city he was trying to navigate. Distracted by GPS, he ran a red light.
P.S. I don't think this is a pointless blog; if blogs aren't for sharing our thoughts, what are they for?
