I'm so happy its unreal. Unfortunately, I'm still waiting on my MCAT scores that I took on April 13th, so crossing my fingers I won't have to take that crappy test again. I guess we'll see.
In the meantime, I started getting really pumped up for Diablo 3 last night. I was studying for exams ALL last weekend, so I didn't have any time at all to play on the open beta weekend - I'm thinking this might not have been such a bad thing, as the game will have all of the new flair and content for me when I get to start playing.
I've played MMO's for a long, long time. Starting with Everquest 1, working my way through Vanilla WoW and Everquest 2, I even tried Vanguard and Rift for awhile, raided in both, never could really get back into it. But i LOVED the Diablo 1 and Diablo 2 series. I can't wait to make my monk and start destroying Diablo's minions all over again. Yeah, I know they aren't MMOs, but with the online servers I'm hoping it will begin to feel similar if I get to play with all of my friends online who will surely buy the game.
I just preordered yesterday (WOOT) and finished the download. Now I'm just waiting for release! In the meantime, I've started upgrading my rig for D3. Not that it really needs and upgrade, my PC still runs most games on max quality with no hiccups, but I feel like I need something to really motivate me to be productive while I wait for May 15. (Two days after exams are over and I'm bored.) This is actually terrible, considering how much I wanted to just relax and play video games during exam season, and now I finally have the time and I'd rather just wait for D3. Sigh.
Anyways, I've upgraded my 4 gig of DDR2 ram to 16 gigs of DDR3, which involves buying a new motherboard. Since I'm not in a hurry, I'm waiting to find the best deal. Does anyone have any ideas on what motherboard I should buy? I'm looking to spend around 100-150, but I suppose I could go a little higher if anyone has some awesome suggestions. I plan on just sticking with my E8300 3.0 ghz processor and buying whatever new card Nvidia decides to drop and SLI it with my current 260.
Can't wait to set up my new rig and play some Diablo 3, the game looks awesome. If only PvP would be available at launch, that would be excellent. But I guess I'd rather Bliz release now and spend some more time refining it so we all get a shot at the game before PvP starts up.
I've never understood why some people are so upset about Bliz's insistence on having the game online, and making you log in to play. I guess I understand the argument that if you buy the game, you should have ownership of it and not have to log into the internet to play. Correct me if I'm wrong, but this method allows Bliz to crack down on Piracy, as you can't access the game if you don't have a unique battle.net account from ordering the game itself? That doesn't upset me at all - but I guess that means the death of offline LAN sessions. Eh.
Anyways, can't wait for D3. Hope to see all of you online. I plan to play a monk, if any TL'ers would like to play with me, PM me and I'll send you my BattleTag code or whatever! The more the merrier!
Happy gaming, all!
