I took this picture. Unfortunately it was somewhat overexposed.. Looks sort of cool in the background though..

Then after sliding 20 feet on my butt, I looked up and saw this nice view of trees.

This was off to the side, but the colors in the trees, even in spring, were quite nice.

HOLY SHIT, LIGHTNING. (I think it's striking a big flagpole my neighbor has, it's been extremely loud, and the ground has been shaking.
Cost benefit...
So yeah. I went to the UCSD event. Let's just say I was convinced. Lots of competent people, what looked like an excellent program, excellent placement. Generally social people despite what many people maintain.
But the question is: IS IT WORTH IT.
It would cost around 28-30 thousand dollars per year. Which although not being as bad as a private institution, isn't insignificant. I could go to Oklahoma/Idaho/Alabama/etc for free. but then again, the ridiculous job placement at UCSD might somewhat compensate. Plus I would definitely enjoy the experience more. But it's so hard making the call of 120 thousand dollars, versus all the long term implications there may be. If I was doing a pre-professional program, then I would definitely do this. But I will probably only be doing undergrad. And it's just excruciating to make a decision with such lasting consequences. Plus my mom keeps on saying BLARGH, YOU ARENT COMPETENT ENOUGH TO SUCCEED THERE.
Anyways, I really need to mull that over.
Lastly...
Korea (woohoo)
Actually somewhat playing into the above is anything korea involved. Wouldn't mind taking the non-prestigious, but again opportunity cost of the above is actually quite significant. Then again, travel, but long term travel isn't really a great option to be brutally honest due to cost, due to rigorousness of work, due to relatively little time between school and when I hopefully have a job. Would love to visit. Study abroad would be a pain in the butt, although might be able to make it work. Want to travel a lot though.
That aside, finally got korean books, lined up teacher, we'll see how it goes.
If anybody wants to practice the koreans on skype (in a few weeks probably) I'd be more than up for it >.>
