So I just watched the second season of Rosario + Vampire, because it was just released to netflix. This anime is so fucking frustrating. The characters could not put them selves in worse situations if they tried...actually, I'm sad to say they probably could.
The anime is pretty good, if you can get past the 50 panty flashes in every episode, not to mention the nudity in season 2. Though I've always hated the multiple love interest thing. This guy drags all these girls along just to one day have to choose between one of them. The longer he waits the harder these girls will take it too, so he's gonna feel like a complete douche.
The only think I don't understand is, in season 2 he goes to get the rosary that will transform Moka back into her human form, and the other girls go along to help him, he's going to take on basically the king of vampires to see this girl again, and you’re still hoping he picks you? No, that's not gonna happen, while I'd love if he ended up with Kurumu or Mizori, at this point if he doesn't marry moka, her dad will just fucking murder him. You’re not going through all this trouble to marry someone else.
98% of this anime was me non stop cringing at every scene. There was actually a point during season 2 where I had to pause in the middle of the episode and leave the room for 30 minutes because of how purely awkward and painful the situation was. It was the scene where Moka's vampire self is trying to do the, "Oh Moka. Oh Tskune" thing.
I mean overall it was an acceptable anime, though I definitely have seen better. If I had to make a list of my top 5, they'd be: 1. Clannad, Clannad: After Story. 2. Sekirei. 3. Shuffle! 4. Demon King Daimao. 5. Tears to Tiara (but that's really fucking debatable, there are a lot of animes that could compete for the fifth slot.)
So anyway, I'll be doing a blog post on the other animes mentioned eventually, possible even right after I post this, but I'm not going to flood TL with all my blogs.
If you have an animes that you'd like to recommend please leave a comment. I personally love anime drama, preferably one that has a happy ending or at least the main character marries the love interest.
Also any animes recommended please tell me where I can watch them; the default place I will search for them will be on netflix.

Not sure if I should be ashamed or not to admit I sat through this anime and you're spot on hahah. I feel like with some more effort and less awkward / childy drama it coulda been really decent...
I'm running out of anime to watch on Netflix TT I have just been clicking on the next one in my list and watching it.
I'm currently halfway through Gungrave and I like it a lot so far, though the first episode was a little confusing until you put everything together a few episodes later. The voice acting isn't terrible in Gungrave either, which is a plus (I prefer subtitles but Netflix is like NOPE.)
Also it's not a drama or anything but if you haven't watched Devil May Cry, watch that too!
Also TL rules state one blog a day, I forgot to mention that while I was thinking about it, so don't post another one after this like you said you might ^^;;

you should read the manga it's better but I do agree the anime is bad it did not get to the good parts of the story at all. There is a lot more story in the manga and the MC is better later on as well. Still kinda quirky like any anime thought but there is still hope for the manga. If you can get pass about 20ish chapters.

Rosario Vampire was SO much better in S1 than in Capu2. Capu 2 just got weird. And the ending.....Christ that ending....
Many thumbs up on Demon King Daimao. You would probably enjoy Baka & Test (also on instant queue). It's a little sillier in premise and execution, but it's got the same faux-harem deal that DKD does. If you haven't seen Ah! My Goddess either, go ahead and add that. It's pretty much in the same vein. Stay away from Girls Bravo though.....there's absolutely no plot at all, it's just 100% fanservice, and personally I didn't like the main heroine at all.
If you don't mind subs, I would highly highly HIGHLY suggest watching Zero no Tsukaima somewhere. Season 1 has been dubbed (called: The Familiar of Zero), and I'm sure you can find the episodes online. I doubt the other seasons get dubbed, so I warn you -- if you watch S1, be prepared to watch the next 3 seasons subbed, because you will enjoy it that much. I just finished the series a few days ago and it dislodged TMoHS as my #1 fav of all time.
I'm currently watching Shakugan no Shana, which is a lot like ZnT, only with a different setting and a more serious sort of tone. The VAs for the main hero/heroine are the same as in ZnT as well, which only makes it more awesome. It was a lot slower to get started (I didn't get into SnS until about ep4, while I loved ZnT from ep1,) but it really picked up once it got going.
TL:DR -- Zero no Tsukaima, if you don't mind subs, is one of the best pieces of anime I've watched recently. Watch it! NOW!

One of the best pieces of anime? I mean... to each their own, but really?

The 50 panty flashes in every episode is the only reason people watch it =P Soo much fanservice, I had so much fun laughing my ass off season 1. I never finished season 2 because, while it was still funny, it was not nearly as good as 1. When school gets out I might go ahead and fnish capuuu2.
Zero no tsukaima is pretty good if you have time to burn, I enjoyed it a lot.
Shakugan no shana is one of my favorite anime ever, and I've listened to the OP and ending themes thousands of times ( not an exaggeration) because they are that good, I highly recommend you look into it.
I don't know where you should watch it, i just google it and theres a good 10-20 places online.
I don't watch too many drama type anime, I prefer comedy ones.

Watch Welcome to the NHK if you like dramas. Good psychological drama.

I'll grant you that the quality fell off a bit after Season 2, but it was still really enjoyable, especially for fans of the harem genre. I'm a sucker for the whole medieval theme as well.
Spells + harem + medieval theme + great hero/heroine dynamics + just the right amount of fanservice. Yes, it's my new favorite.

Fate/Stay Night :DD Beautiful anime. The VN is better, but that's kind of an unfair comparison. It's dubbed if you're wanting that, but I dislike dubs soo...
That's more of an action anime than a drama, I suppose. Still, one of my tops for sure.
It's not on netflix, so if you don't mind it "illegally" then just google it. Lots of the popular anime hosting sites have it up.
I have so much trouble recommending anime because I don't keep a list of them all..Sigh.

Madoka is an excellent comedic anime about magical girls. Highly recommend you watch, gets good reviews.

Lmao Tears to Tiara so sad. TT

yo this anime man, pretty good. If you actually compare it with many other things. But this is an adaptation so you should always try to read the original before you watch this. After all anime now only is fap material.

you mentioned this show and didn't talk about Nana Mizuki? does Netflix like censor her amazing ED song or something? I'm so sad.

TL;DR -- Zero no Tsukaima is The Young and the Restless in medieval times cartoon. Sat through the final season wanting shit to end.
To OP: Clannad is too sad to be my favorite. T_T Props to DKD...great series indeed, male lead isn't a constant pussy. With your kind of anime you like, I think you'd like "Ano Natsu de Matteru."
For the record, my favorite is the Full Metal Panic (not Alchemist) series.

Went through my list for drama and/or romance
Happy ending
Ah! My Goddess! Chobits Da Capo DN Angel Iketeru Futari Martian Successor Nadesico (light-hearted fun, zero development) Onegai Teacher! Onegai Twins! Ichigo 100% Suzuka (most serious of the bunch)
Less happy ending
Honey & Clover (melancholic) Spice & Wolf (open-ended)
Happy ending but little or no romance
Baccano! Mai-HiME

I always felt that the last part/big reveal in Daimao didn't mesh well to an otherwise mindless harem.

Welcome to the NHK is a good watch (truly nothing quite like it) and it is good to try different sub-genres. However, I think you (OP) would prefer something of a lighter fare, judging by your top five.
This person's intros page (hmm ... nostalgic) has a decent list of anime, some of which fall under what you're looking for.

I don't usually watch drama anime since most of it were boring. Drama anime I watch recently:
Ano Natsu de Matteru, I recommend this based on your top 5 anime.
And....yeah that's all.
