ugh, losing a lot of games these last couple days. Whenever I play right now it just seems my macro is off, my micro isn't there and the other players know exactly what to do lol. I really wanted to get top 8 masters this season, but it looks like I won't get there again. I was at rank 11 just 2 days ago, then I went all the way to rank 23 or so losing about 150-200 points. The weird thing is that if I just play a couple games a day, I win a lot. But then when I try to sit down and go hardcore ladder mode I lose everything lol. Oh well. What do you guys do when you get on losing streaks?

I just quit playing for a day or two and when I come back I don't care about the rank. The biggest issue in the most cases are that your nerves comes into play and you start questioning yourself instead trust. When you overcome this you'll be much better.

Get away from the game for awhile. Could be minutes/hours/days for me, depends. Somedays I get tilted really easily, other times I can roll with the losses for quite awhile and they won't really bother me.

What do you guys do when you get on losing streaks?

I was in the same situation as you ( tried to get into top 8 master a few seasons ago, tried to play about 10 ladder games per day. Suddenly I started loosing..alot.. I thought if I continued playing a few more games I would start winning again, but i never happened. I think I had a 10 loss streak. I was so upset that I didn't play for months.

Best thing when you start loosing (3 games usually does it for me) I just shut the game of, do something else for a few hours. If you try to play more when you're mad you'll just loose more and more.
Thats my experience anyway.

Do you have the same problems if you play 10 games in a row as if you play 2 games in a row 5 times? Also, I personally play worse when I expect something, for example playing against worse players. You expecting to play better might make you focus too much on that and not the actual game.

When I'm on a losing streak I keep playing if I feel in shape(i.e. when I've played less than ~2 hours, after that I'm often too tired to keep playing). I'm trying to make myself not lose my temper, not think about losses and always start the game with a "gl hf

" and never blame Blizzard/cheese for my losses. Due to the MMR system you'll get matched with worse opponents and start winning again, so it's nothing to worry about. The losing streak may also be caused by recent successes, and your MMR rose a bit higher than you could handle.

I keep on stubbornly playing. I do not believe in that something as silly as a losing streak should get me to stop playing. It isn't good for my mental health though, as Protoss makes me want to break my keyboard at times.

depends im on a losing streak because im switching to a complete new tvt style, doing a build i never did before in tvp, and being bad at tvz(which probably will result in me switching it up again). So for me just keep playing because ill know ill get back.

I'm on the brink of quitting these days tbh.
Putting myself through all this crap just isn't worth it for me anymore.
I realize what I'm doing wrong (can't seem to ingrain scouting into my play), and I try to work on it, but apparantly I'm unable to improve with the amount of time I have available (~2-3 games pr night usually).
I've played around 500 ladder matches total, and still I'm incapable of scouting. I guess RTS isn't my thing.
I honestly think SC2 is a progamers game. Not really any point playing it at a casual level.
So yeah, I think I'll start doing real life stuff instead. GL to the rest of you.

im so frustrated too. since the new ladder season began (1 week ago) i my stats are 9wins-19losses.

i fight so hard but i am not capable of gaining more than 40 ladder pints in my division. i try to gain a mindset of "ladder points count nothing, skill is earned by losing and learning from your losses" but my brain just can't adapt to this thesis. i'm so sick of losing after a 1win-5loss streak that im on the verge of quitting, too.

problem is that i had quittet before (out of frustration) and when i wanted to start again, 8 months later, my skill dropped enormously but my MMR is still the same than before the break. which leads to even more losses.

so i try not to give up right now even how frustrated i am, even how angry i am at myself, i have to play at least 3 games a day so that my mechanics don't suffer too much. to improve i should play way more but my frustrated mind can't handle the rage of winning 20% of the games.

think i am sick, its not like ladder anxiety: im so motivated to play but after the first loss i can't manage to gain a clear mind (but it's subtle because i don't notice it in the game. only in the replay these things are shown)

i will try to achieve my goal of playing at least 3 games a day!
