The person who writes me the best poem wins (more realistically the first good poem). You can write about one or more of the following topics (no bonus points for more than one, use your imagination):
Metabolism
John von Neumann
Butterflies (this one is gonna be really hard; if you write a good poem about butterflies you automatically win.)
Lasers
Ok so here's about me and the kind of poetry I like:
I have a degree in English. I don't really like poetry at all. I definitely don't like rhyming poetry, unless the rhyme is internal to the line and irregular. Definitely no pentameter... I'm skeptical of classical metrical convention (unless you write it in Latin - Latin poems also accepted, in which case it MUST be in meter, preferably elegiac or sapphic). It's very important that you make the words sound cool when you say them one after another.

Sometimes I dream at night. I write about it as my diary entry the next day

Dao: A pervasive term in Japanese and Chinese thought, it can roughly be translated as path, the Way, the Truth, and so forth.
