The end of a long friendship

rad301 Canada196 Posts March 13 2012 07:23 GMT #1 I guess I'm coming up to rewrite number five on this blog. This realization only serves to prove to me exactly how significant this is. After a month of consideration, I've arrived at the conclusion that I will no longer play BW. The reasons to and for are many, but what finally tipped the scales is the revelation that this hobby of mine is still just a game, and one which I can no longer justify spending so much time on. I can't devote the time I need to become a solid player, and if I can't become a solid player then I have lost the final driving motivation to keep playing. But I don't want to end this on a bad note. Unfortunately this is a pretty big deal for me and I've had a few drinks, so I apologize if this gets sappy or anything. I want to give thanks where it is due, and get some things off my chest. Thank you to Shauni and Oystein from the late team Get (Going Effective Together) for being the two people who I strived to play like the most. I always looked up to you guys as people who were great players that seemed to have true passion for the game. Thank you to Chill for giving me words of encouragement a long time ago when I tried to start a blog for my practice routine that never came to fruition. Having you ok the project made me feel like a baller back then. Thank you to Nony for being an awesome person and being a good role model for me. I've never been much of a spectator, but when you beat Idra in TSL 2 I literally jumped in the air for the first time ever watching any kind of spectator sport. Thank you to Day(9) for the insight and laughs you have given me over the years, and the realization of how lucky I am to have a really great relationship with my older brother like you do. I didn't cry when my grandmother or my uncle died, but I cried like a baby when I watched "My life of starcraft." Thank you to Manifesto7 for motivating me to finally stop being a bitch and just ladder to D+ (link here) Thank you to Sayle for working so hard for the BW community in every way. The fervor you inspire in people to play BW again or start from scratch is a really great thing to see. Last but not least, thank you to the TL website staff for creating the best damn forum on the internet. Even though I will no longer play BW, I think it will be a while before I stop checking this website every damn minute of my free time. I may regret in the future not fulfilling my goals, but I can guarantee than I will never regret being a part of this community, and any small part I played in being a part of it. My glass is tipped to you, the people who truly work hard for your passions. If ever you should doubt yourself, always remember that there is people like me looking up to you.

Farewell Good sir, maybe u and starcraft will meet again in the future, just rememeber to check TL if that day comes Good Luck!!!!
