This may be more of a Liquid Poker question.
but.. does anyone know a good site to play poker against real people but not for real money?
I heard a lot of beginners in practice would play on Full Tilt, but FTP seems to be having a lot of problems lately.
Anyone know another site?/
Again, dont want to gamble, just want a site to play against other players.
Thanks All

The problem that at low levels, playing with fake money means a lot of people dicking around because they aren't losing anything real.
Good luck! (and at lots of fake money levels, people are usually smarter)

Yeah its hard to find a real money-esque table without actually playing with real money.

get your 50$ free bankroll for party poker(google intructions youll find them). then play the lowest limits. if you play with fakemoney people will just spam all in and you will learn NOTHING

This is how I started. Once you start playing, it's a good idea to post hands that you have trouble with in poker forums.

He said for Americans. Americans don't have the luxury of playing on party/stars for real money. We're stuck with slow cashouts and sketchy sites (merge/cake).
On the other hand, WPT has a site up, where you can pay a lot amount (I think it's like $10 or $20) for a subscription and win prizes, I never tried it, but it might be up your alley.

He said for americans where? i must have missed that, because it certainly isnt in the opening post....
Anyways if you live want to play poker, the us is pretty much the worst country to live in

If you want to learn poker i would suggest not using play money tables to learn, when people play for fun only you are not going to learn anything useful because they are not playing like if they were playing real money.
I would rather suggest study poker theory and try to cash in a small amount of money (like $15) and play in micro limits. Pokerstrategy is a good place to start and they always have been supporter of esports so don't hesitate to create an account there. I don't know if american are elligible to the $50 Bankroll tho

i don't think you'll learn too much playing without real money. majority of players(not playing for real money) just fucks around and makes stupid "decisions" just to try their luck.

This isn't accurate. If you can't beat retards on play money, you have no business playing cash games. Poker is all about taking retards money, so play money is actually a pretty good learning tool to start with.

Yes pretty much this. You are better off throwing $20 on a site and playing for pennies than playing for nothing.

Play money can be OK practice. You can work on your patience (hand selection, etc.) and you can work on getting your money in good.

I don't understand our government, in this country you can own and use an assault rifle, you can parade around the street in nazi uniforms calling for the extermination of the jews, you can sell people fake new-age medical cures and get rich quick schemes; yet the thing that crosses the line is online poker? Really congress?

Excuse me for my ignorance but are you allowed to play poker online in the US? I'm not a poker player and don't follow the scene at all but I'm just curious since I see this blog :p

I have never heard of any problems with anyone playing. There is some legislation in congress that is being worked on to try to legalize online poker throughout the states. Recently, Fulltilt and Pokerstars were shut down here but there are other options.
