Probably should get a hold of someone in management first though if you decide to do that. Have a great trip whatever you do. Best korean food in the world (and yes, that includes korea itself) they have huge korean malls too (yes, exclusively korean stores) with all sorts of korean/asian things you can buy if you are into that kind of thing.

Daikokuya Ramen, The Boiling Crab. Lawry's. LA has the largest population of Koreans outside of Asia so there's probably some good Korean BBQ. Shopping: The Grove, Glendale Galleria, South Coast Plaza, Rodeo Drive. Stuff to do: Getty Museum, Griffith Observatory, beaches, santa monica pier, Six Flags Magic Mountain, see the view from Mulholland drive, watch a Laker game.

In terms of non-food entertainment, I would suggest going to the Santa Monica Pier, then head south along the beach-side bike path to Venice Beach. Also, be sure to hike the Santa Monica-Malibu mountains, probably the most beautiful chaparral mountains of their kind. They are seldom populated, so it's a great way to get away from it all and experience the true Southern Californian ecosystem at it's purest.

Pinks (hotdog joint, some really good shit there), In-n-out (best burgers, fresh, #1), Filipe's (french style roast beef sandwiches with aj'ou dip), Kogi BBQ traveling food truck (just try it, find their website to see where they'll be). Bonus high end restaurants: Roy's, Spago Attractions Try to catch either a Lakers or Clippers game if you can. The area outside the stadium has been really developed over the years and is a pretty cool place to find bars and restaurants to grab drinks and such after the game as well. If you go to Six Flags (which is about 30 miles west-ish north-west-ish of LA), make sure you go during the week as weekends = 2hr lines. Hollywood clubs scene/bars - overrated, pricy, and the area is a tourist attraction. Beaches - Whatever you do, stay away from Venice and Santa Monica. They're dirty as fuck and have tons of bums. Malibu, Zuma, and the other beaches farther north are very nice. ---------- That's pretty much general stuff I can think of. Let me know if your looking for specific stuff though. Have fun!

Can you expand on this point at all? rainrainrainrainrainrainrainrainrainrainrain I personally like it, but a majority of people seem to hate how much it rains here, and even I like some sun once in awhile. Maybe I'm understating how much the rain sucks this time of year due to the fact I spent all of December in California? Who knows.

Vancouver is an awesome place in the Summer and shortly before/after, but is a dark, depressing, and rainy place where the sun is seldom seen every other season. We also get trolled with slush/snow that quickly turns into ice as well during the winter. If you ever get seasonal depression Vancouver is not where you want to live. Anyways thanks for the suggestions all, turns out I'm actually staying in the Orange County area right now. I'm planning on taking the train into town and relying on public transit hopefully for my explorations, although this is going to limit what I can do to in what seems like a city of cars. But, I'm pretty well covered on the beach front lol. Anyone have any more details on koreatown? In Vancouver we have plenty of good Chinese/Japanese food but the korean population tends to be more spread out.
