Creepy songs in the middle of the night.

Joraiem United States80 Posts February 10 2012 06:24 GMT #1 Ok, I'm sitting at my computer, trying to find some information on philosophy professors, for a research paper that's due in a few hours (by a few hours I mean like 10) and no luck there. Just to clarify it's a paper on what I want my career to be, and I'm interested in becoming a philosophy professor, but that's beside the point. I'm searching through a whole bunch of sites, when all of a sudden from behind me, I start hearing something. Now a little background information, I've been obsessed with something called the Slender Man, and well, lets just say I've been scared shitless for quite a while now. So I'm just kind of paralyzed in fear, because it's one in the morning, there shouldn't be any noise in my basement. I just sit there, trying to identify it, when suddenly it becomes a lot clearer what the fuck I'm listening to is. Somehow, this is the really creepy part, my mp3 turned on, and went straight to "Requiem for a Dream", which I don't know if you've heard this song or not, but it's scary as shit. Now the problem I was having was, that this particular song was used as a background song for a Slender Man documentary, so I'm having a hear attack in my chair, I literally could not turn around because I was too scared. Now what I'm interested in is what song scares the shit out of you. Or if you've had similar occurrences happen to you. Leave a comment describing it, now I'm going to burn my mp3 and turn on all the lights in my house, and grab a weapon of some sort while I finish my research.

PhuxPro United States294 Posts February 10 2012 06:35 GMT #2 it brings me back to the times when i was a child but only the scary times, like when i was lost in jewels or when my fave stuffed animal was missing! trivial things but when i think back to them this song makes it chilling --------- also, the bottom song his this kind of rise and fall doppler noise that is reminiscent of my younger self back when my parents first started letting me sleep in my own room it was summer so the fan was on the whole night and tried so hard to sleep through.

FFGenerations 7088 Posts February 10 2012 07:29 GMT #4 holy shit cool thread im sure i have a few somewhere i like some of the tracks from Monkey Dust (you can torrent a music pack) , they are depressing rather than scarey tho that 2nd track, theres a film with that atmosphere, called Kairo (japanese horror) . also Marebito has that kinda atmosphere too. if you like that feeling then watch those 2 movies. damn i love the feeling of complete and sometimes eerie isolation ; they arent scarey to me but there are lots of "dark ambience" radio stations eg http://www.shoutcast.com/Internet-Radio/space ambient (keywords dark ambient space)
