So, a little about me. I am an 18-year old student, (19 in April) and I had the fortune to be able to write for a netzine at the early age of 13. Or was it 14? Who cares. In any case, I spent about four years writing actively for my netzine and got to interview some cool people like Omar-Rodriguez Lopez (The Mars Volta, At the Drive-In), Mike McKenzie (The Red Chord), Matt DeVries (Chimaira) and Joe Duplantier (Gojira). Most of these artist are, as a trained eye will notice, within their own respective genres of metal, which was the reason why I quit the zine eventually, simply because I started moving away from metal music in general.

My musical tastes as of today can generally be summed up in hiphop and ambient... And kpop, I admit. :$
Around the time I quit the zine, I was starting the first year of upper secondary school. Naturally I went about my own business and didn't really do anything with my time after that I quit the zine, until I met a guy called Ludvig. Now, this guy was a nobody to me at first, but when we talked a little bit, I found out that he was really into video games. "Cool", I thought. "What games?" "Oh, Starcraft 1, Starcraft 2, Command & Conquer 3... I actually made quite a bit of money off the last one, btw". Wow, a guy that makes money of video games! Cool, do other people do that too? He re-directed me to TL and I have been visiting this webpage every day since then. If you want to know what happened, and what Ludvig is doing these days, please read my interview with him posted right here.
Since that day, I have been chugging SC2 daily, following the EU/US-scenes closely, pulling out all-nighters watching streams and tournies... But I have never given anything back. I have never purchased a pass to any tourney, I've never attended a tournament. In fact, I don't even play this game all that much. So why am I investing so much time in to it? Well... It's simply because every person, every pro has something unique to say. And that was when I got the bright idea of, perhaps, trying to interview someone within the esports-scene. Hear their story and share it with all of you, as a thanks to the fact that you bless me with these wonderful tournaments and this wonderful game. Besides, I always saw myself with a person that had questions on my mind that no-one else had, and I was often-times pretty sad to never hear them getting answered.
Then I simply got the bright idea of getting off my very slender butt and actually finding "victims" on my own. So far I've only had the pleasure of conducting two eSports-interviews. One with my friend Ludvig, and one with an incredible woman named Karen Kay, better known as BlinG's mum, or dignitasMom. I don't know why, but simply seeing her tweet people like BlinG, Grubby, Stephano, Cassandra (Grubby's wife) with words of hope made me realize that her "story" needed to be told.
Shockingly, she actually seemed to be very surprised over the fact that someone would even take interest in her.
Not sure if interested
or telling me to fuck off
But upon some further messaging she seemed very keen on the idea, and I feel like my interview didn't disappoint her or any readers (as of yet, at least), in fact it's one of my favourite interviews to date. I only wish that I had been able to write it in a fluent style, rather than just email her questions. But I hope more of that will come in the future!
So when I got the answers back (really quickly, I might add. This we like!) I was just in time to submit it when the WoR-showmatch had started. I was so happy to see that the thread had garnered a whooping two pages at the end of the night! Karen even posted it on her twitter, which made me even more happy.
But the thing that made me the most happy was the response I got... I can't even tell you just how much of an uplift it was to see things like this:
Yes, that is the most attractive woman in eSports complementing something I have worked that's been re-tweeted by Stephano... I think I can die happy
This is my way of repaying the SC community for everything that it has done for me... I shouted when HerO pulled of a victory at Dreamhack, I cried when I saw MKP cry, I cursed when IdrA lost against Taeja. And not a single time have I ever stopped up thinking "These are guys playing computer games, why should I care"? Well, simply put. It's because there is a story to it, a story that I am sure is remarkable in its very own right. A story I think that I will be able to tell about someday. A story that I will be able to share.
Thank you for reading. I am sorry if it seems pretentious and "melodramatic". But it's late... I don't know what I'm doing. :D
If you actually did enjoy it, though.. Please follow me on twitter! ^^
