Chapter 1:

"At the end of this year 5 Players will get into Code A" I found myself speaking to a large audience. Most of them bankers, lawyers, investors. And if you heard of what I said you would think I've gone insane but I definitely haven't. "This year, 5 players from this team will get into Code A." I repeated to them. Now how did I even get into this situation.

My name is BoxeR, and currently I work as a lawyer, my current client SlayerS, 2 days go KeSPA called me up to see if I can do anything for the SlayerS's current situation. A little about my client, SlayerS known to be the worst team around, having some of the worst player known to the history of progaming. Some of which aren't even in Diamond league. With such lack luster results they are currently looking at being disbanded at the end of this season. Either way I looks the end for the team.

On my way to the team house I passed by a bunch of people fighting. A young man being mobbed by some older men.
"Hey kid, If you don't want this then tell us where your father is. and tell him that he should pay back the money he owe us."
"Damn it, I already told you I don't know"
"Don't lie to us kid, it won't do you any good"
"I am not lying and If I knew I wouldn't tell bastards like you."
"Cheeky brat, looks like I should discipline you some more."
They kept on fighting, obviously the kid was getting pretty banged up. Until the kid hit the floor and the men took his wallet out of his front pants pocket. They looked thru the wallet and picked up all the bills they could find.
"Hey boss, look this kid is a pro-gamer"
"Oh hey he's from SlayerS, explains how little money he has. He must suck HAHAHAAH."
The name piqued my interest so I approached them.
"Hey kid I hear you're from SlayerS, I am trying to get to the team house can you tell me how to get there?"
"He won't say anything"
One of the mobs screamed at me.
"You really have an ugly face, are you from SlayerS too? I guess you can tell me where it is."
"What, you want to fight?"
One of the mob grabbed me by my suit.
"Wait. we're leaving," one of the mob said.
"Eh?" Confused, the guy released me and walked away with the others. As they walked away I overheard their conversation.
"Why you do that Boss?"
"Did you see that badge? he's a lawyer let's not mess around too much."

"Oh, so they weren't players."
With the mob out of the way I approached the kid that's been beaten to the floor.
"just 2 blocks down turn right, next to the post office."
"huh?"
"You asked me! Damn it I never asked you to help me, I could've handled something like that just fine
The kid spouted picking himself up from the floor. What a tough guy.
"All losers talk the same way."
It sounds as if I am picking a fight with him, I really am but I am trying to teach the kid something
"huh?" the fool sounds confused but he should be
"I could've handled that myself, but really you couldn't do anything at all." I explained to him
"what?"
"Thanks for the directions." I thanked him as I walked away, It's not like he could understand what I said but I leave him with those words.

finally I arrived at the team house and I entered the office, which was up in chaos with all the coaches shouting and fighting There was a woman that greeted me, she introduced herself as Jessica the head manager of the team. I looked at the coaches and surveyed the room with my eyes.

Damn all these people aren't up to the task. I can already imagine how the players are.

"All right looks like everyone is here." I said as I took a seat on the couch.
"I have been sent by the Korean eSports Association to evaluate the current situation on the SlayerS team. My name is BoxeR." I introduced myself to them.
"Since time is limited, I will briefly explain the situation, SlayerS currently have an 50Millon won debt for over 2 years and currently has no players in Code A and have had a trend of bad reputation for a long time. This team has been deemed unable to function and will be disbanded." I explained their situation as quickly and clearly as I could.
Not my surprise the reaction from the coaches were negative. things like "I didn't here anything about this", or "That doesn't solve anything", or "Does that mean we are all fire." Not a single one of them was concerned for the players. But that's why this team is being disbanded.

But instead of just disbanding I actually want to try something. Something that will set a precedence for other teams. If I can succeed, I would be a pioneer. I'll be proud of achieving a miracle and become famous. Instead of just doing some stupid paper works let's do something interesting.... I thought to myself that something like this would work. So let's give it a try.

After coming into agreement with myself I told Jessica to call their bankers and creditors and various sponsors they had contacts with and have them all come in for a meeting. Where we would discuss the future of this team.

Time for the meeting. I fixed my suit as I entered the meeting room gazes from 10 representatives of different sponsors, creditors, and banks fell on me. The next thing I said riled all of them.
"A loan?"
"Yes a loan, with a loan we can avoid Bankruptcy and with that the team won't have to disband. If we continue a bit longer and improve conditions within the team."
I explained to the banks
"So what kind of project will let us avoid bankruptcy?" I asked them a rhetorical question.
"It's one of my ideas of reviving the SlayerS team." I answered my own question.

"Wait BoxeR can you tell use something a little more concrete?" A banker in a blue suit asked me
"We will change the management policy of the team, and a special division will be created for the Players to trial for the GSL. and we will go through special preparations for the players to go through the qualifiers."
Then I declared this.
"This year 5 players will go into Code A"

Chapter 2
"This year 5 players will go into Code A" I declared to everyone in the room.
"Did he just say Code A?"
"You mean that Code A?"
"Has this man gone insane?"
"What's he talking about? Code A? We're talking about SlayerS here."
"You definitely won't succeed, stop making jokes."
"Give us something more realistic please!"
One after another creditors and coaches attacked and laughed my idea.
"I am very convinced something like this would be feasible. This year 5 players, next year 10 player, and in the next 5 years all of the SlayerS players will be in Code A."

"Give us something more realistic, where do you find such players on this team?"
"I already know the name of the first player. Come in."
I signaled for someone to come in, she was my trump card I have prepared just before the meeting, Actually she was just a player I bumped into on my way. Hired her for 15000 won to just stand there and stay quiet while I talk to these bastards to approve my project.
"is that?.... SlayerSEve?"
"The one from the B-Team?"
"Eve?"
Even the head manager Jessica was surprised.
"She will be the first player to enter Code A through the qualifiers in the beginning of the next season."
"Eve, in code A? that's stupid!"
"Does this lawyer even know Eve's skill level?"
They laughed
"Hey, what about Code A?"
Eve asked me, it was as if she was confused.
"Stay quiet"
I told her to stand there and be quiet just as I have paid her to do.
"Please tell us who is going to Code A."
She refused to remain quiet. so I answered her.
"You"
"Eh?"
"Next year you will qualify and enter Code A."
"Ah?"
"Mr.BoxeR, you said this girl will enter code A, how could you say something like that?"
"That's right! If you can't guarantee a 100% success we can't agree to this."
"And it doesn't seem like she has been practicing either."
The Creditors laughed,
"Ladies and Gentlemen, You don't know what it's like in the qualifiers, I am sure you have heard getting into code A is difficult, last year the qualifiers were like hell, but that is no longer the case. It's now easier to qualify into Code A."
With that I recaptured their attention.
"More over, many players from top teams have been transferring to foreign teams in to explore the foreign scene. And due to popularity Code A has become a big league, and the qualifiers are becoming easier.
After all, nobody lives up in the clouds.
As for the qualifiers skill and talent are not necessities. What are necessary are techniques, practice, a well thought out strategy and a good understanding of the current metagame. With those one can qualify. This project will become outstanding. and SlayerS will be in the center of everyone's attention."
"Stop dreaming, It's impossible."
"Then should we just let this team disband then?"
After I said that silence fell upon the room. until the head manager broke the silence.
"No I definitely won't let that happen."
then one by one the creditors agreed.
"Well if you put it like that, it's certainly better than to just let the team go."
"Maybe we could give it a shot."
Success, With this we have secured the capital needed for this project to work.
"See ya," The girl from earlier Eve, said to me as she split up with me.
"Wait,"
"What? You only told me to stand and be quiet, and I've done that. And I've done what you said so I won't give you your money back."
"...You won't go to Code A?"
"...You're still saying that." She said to me with a little giggle.
"You know I won't succeed."
"So let me change the question then. Don't you want to go to Code A?"
"No, Why would I want to go to Code A?"
"Ah ok, so you're really an idiot then."
"What do you mean "really an idiot"?"
"When you're in the top leagues your life will take an 180 turn. Think about it, you don't deserve the life in front of you. That's unless you want to work at your mother's restaurant as a low wage waitress for the rest of your life."
"Shut up!"
She screamed at me and turned and left. Maybe I was a little mean, but at least that will get her thinking about her future.

Next morning in the team house...
"What is this piece of paper Mr. BoxeR?"
"What does temporary dismissal mean?"
"This kind of restructuring is impossible!"
"What if I lose my job?"
"Everybody protest!"
One after another the coaches attacked me
"Calm down people!"
"Do you understand your situation right now? If this team goes bankrupt then you all will be really fired."
"This reconstruction of the team is a must. Now read the next line."
"In order to have players able to perform at their best abilities, You will do a test on your skills. Those who pass will be given long term contracts."
"A test?"
"I won't let myself be judged by a lawyer!"
"What's the meaning of this?"
Damn these coaches don't give this a rest. Then someone caught my attention. His name was Cella.
"Excuse me, I am against the restructuring. The success of the project will ride on Eve's success in qualifying for Code A, I won't let one of my players bear such a heavy burden."
"I will show you that she will succeed."
"How can you be so sure? Please give us a realistic goal."

"oh? like what kind of goal?"

"What I love about coaching is able to be able to see the players grow over time due to my efforts."

"So what you love is their personality? human nature? justify yourself."

"That's not something that can be justified.."

"Then you're disappointing, you only say subjective things"

"Then can you justify yourself? What's so attractive about SlayerS that you want your project here?"

"All players in Code A"

"How about something other than numbers?"

"Numbers are a proof of competitiveness. Teams are a business. Your way of thinking will crash the team."
I stopped the conversation there and turned to the other coaches.
"No back on topic, which coach wants to manage the Special Qualifiers Division? Is there a volunteer?"
All the coaches turn away. what a bunch of losers.
"The coach that manages the Special Qualifiers Division will have priority."
"eh?"
"You mean no test?"
"But what if Eve fails? We'll be fired."
"Yeah we'll be fired."
Damn it these people. I've almost lost all of my patience.
"Enough! I understand no one here has the confidence. The one who will coach the Special Qualifiers Division will be me!"
Then I turned to the Head manager that has been silently watching all of this.
"Jessica please call all the players into the living room."

The players were all a mess. The first thing I thought to myself was. These idiots really have stupid faces. In fact they didn't pay attention to me at all.
"You guys will continue to lose for the rest of your life."

"What was that? Come on we'll kill you!"

"Shut up!"
I punched the table, leaving a large dent in it.
"When I say "lose" I mean you will be cheated. If you continue like this your entire career you will be cheated."

"We'll be cheated? By whom?"

"In eSports there are rules. You must follow these rules"
"and these rules, are all written by the strongest players out there. And they make use of those rules. Since the weaker players can't do anything about them and these rules will continue to serve those players. The sponsors will look only at the top players, also things like bracket nominations and tournament seedings. Those are the rules that serve the strong."

"But things like that can't be helped."

"I'll show you a simple way. All you have to do is qualify for Code A. The goal of the Special Qualifiers Division is to prepare you for you to qualify in Code A. Our only goal is Code A."
Once again I said these words
"This year, 5 players will go into Code A! It's your life's turning point. Insufficient people have no chance."
Suddenly someone throws a ball of paper my way. I catch it with my hands and one kid walked through the crowd into the front.
"What about Code A? Enough with that."
It was the kid what was being mobbed before, When I went through the player records I saw his name, MMA. I walked infront of him.
"Do you hate Code A?"

"Yeah just like everyone else here."

"Well, I do too,"

"Ah?" He sounded confused.

"Those who are in admiration in front of the word "Code A"."
"Those who think they will succeed in eSports just because they made it in to Code A"
"And those who feel small in front of a player because that person is in Code A is all meaningless."

"So why do you keep on telling us all to qualify?"

"That's something you can't understand yet. You have unlimited possibilities but you have no bases. You don't realize that the opportunity is there and you reject it, you will live in regret for the rest of your life!"
I said as I threw the paper ball into the air where it landed in the trash bin across the room.
"So you are MMA, If you don't want to end up that way. Then walk on your own rules."
"You guys understand? If you guys don't want to lose for the rest of your life, Practice! Get your own sponsors, then you can walk on your own rules!"
"All of you losers, Go to Code A!"
