2 hatch Muta is not an all-in, for example. You don't have to win with it, just do enough damage and you can move onto Hive tech. 2 hatch Lurker is perhaps an all-in though, as you either need to win outright or completely obliterate the Terran's natural along with some SCVs or you cannot transition out of it. As for SC2 and casters such as Tastosis proclaiming "all-in" every 3rd game or so, it's quite absurd. I think "timing attack" is also ridiculous at this point. It's when you maximize your army and time it for a point when your opponent is busy expanding, teching, or powering. It's more than just attacking when you have ammassed a good army. It must be also be tied to a moment of weakness for your opponent. Recent SPL spoilers: + Show Spoiler + Flash vs Soo and Jaedong recently. Now that is a timing attack people. MMF pressure when the zerg only has a handful of lings. Flash timed it perfectly to destroy greedy Zerg play. The SC2 casters don't do too terrible with calling "timing attacks" and they are often correct when it's an early game attack, but they sometimes call it too far into the game for it to really adhear to any specific timing. | ||
