Things I learned:
1. Too many times I use my lurkers only for defense. Don't just sit back and let the terran siege up your natural with reinforcements. Attack him while he is on the move and before he can get his pretty defense up. Lurkers are tanky enough to use offensively.
2. Building an expo a million miles away isn't always bad...it can provide opportunities to split the enemy force and counter attack. If they don't attack it, then you get free money.

You say you have a thing for lurkers, but I totally have a thing for hydras in zvt, I think you may have inspired me to play a few

I also enjoyed this.
Picture summaries should become standard. Make a relatively normal game seem much interesting, and really lets you feel the flow of the game and the thought process much better.

Nice blog, i think you convinced me to go BW for some time(i was convincing myself for half a year ;p), im kinda sick of sc2 and need to clear my head. I actually hate sc2 for dull ladder and im quite mechanics obsessed player (ex semi cs pro you could say ;o fps background is bad for rts  ), i completely stopped watching replays/ improving. I think BW would do good for me now... as i already watch it for some time.
The question is, how long took you to transition and what league were you in sc2?

yes yes yes! this is why I do these blogs, so more people will be interested in BW. thanks for reading man.
I started to play about a month ago. I first practiced against computers and then moved onto custom BW AI. I did this because my games against human opponents would never allow me to explore the lategame fully. Also, it helped me practice my macro with more than 4 bases. I am Diamond Zerg in SC2!
And to be honest I am STILL transitioning. BW is very intimidating coming from SC2 but once you win one game you will understand the addiction
In BW there is no babysitting so every win truly feels like you and you alone did all the sweating and clicking to earn victory.

Hydra/lurk is actually sometimes better than than Lurker/ling/defiler on python because its sooooo wide open in the center! And hydras aren't that terrible against bio if you're ahead on upgrades, so get da gas a bit faster and hydra/lurk some bitches up!!! glglglglgl

You absolutely don't have to go mutas, especially after a failed bunker rush into 2rax, going lurkers is good. Just make him think you're going to try to break his nat to make him build 3 bunkers while you expand at 9 o'clock and drone/tech/upgrade.

Whaa? BW has been out for Mac since 1999, and the system requirements were pretty low even for the time.
Unless your Mac is 20+ years old, you should be able to play BW just fine.
