That's right, this is my 1000th post.
About a week ago I created another blog with a poll asking what I should do for my 1000th post, promising that I would do whatever was selected. As a joke, I added an option for 1000 pictures of the My Little Pony: Friendship is magic character, Rainbow Dash. I then made the mistake of mentioning this in #TLponies. The result was no surprise.
But a promise is a promise. Some of you (you know who you are) told me it was impossible, well I am here to prove you wrong. So without further ado, here are 1000 pictures of Rainbow Dash:

This took about 16 hours over 4 days. Some of you are probably wondering why I did this. For one, I can't back down from a challenge. But that's not all. TL is such an amazing place, everyday people create incredible content and contribute immensely in the form of write-ups, blogs, free tech support, ideas, analysis, and moderation. That really inspired me to complete this project. While I realize many of you non-pony fans probably can't appreciate the content, I hope you can at least appreciate the effort I put in. It's not perfect, but I hope you all enjoy it.
As to my 1000th post, I realize many of you LR junkies are probably laughing at someone marking 1000. But to me this is an important milestone. Not only do I feel like I am now really part of this community, but I feel like I've just begun contributing. Thanks to everyone on TL. These 1000 totally awesome pony pics are for you.
I am actually planning on doing some real blogs in the near future, and I may very well do some of the 1000th post ideas that didn't win. Some of them were pretty cool (attempting to draw every SC2 unit in MS paint? How would that not be awesome?). But we shall see.

For the bronies:
I have to admit after doing this, I've really come to appreciate the animation in MLP so much more. When you watch an episode in it's entirety, you miss so many of the little things. The animators really took the time to put in so many details on these characters. From snapping her tail like a whip to make a point, to the little eye squints and momentary gasps of fright, there are so many little tiny changes in her expression. I'm realizing now this is what really makes these characters come alive, at least as close as cartoons can be. So cheers to the animators.
And there are actually about 1016 pics of RBD in here, just to make up for all the pics that rael says "don't count". Bah, when you see an atomic rain bomb, you know that RBD is in there somewhere.... 
Also, have fun finding derpy, she's in there, I promise

Still think you shoulda photo mosaic'd it but too late.
Also fun notes I"ve found at least 2 (edit: make that 3) pictures that dont have Rainbow in them, and Derpy is in there hiding as well.
Grats on your 1k seeing as you actually took a while to get there instead of spamming your way.

Congrats to you! Finally found Derpy as well as the original Dashface (one of RBD's most iconic expressions).
+ Show Spoiler [Hint for finding Derpy] +The image used shows the first reappearance of "derped" Derpy after episode 1. That should help you filter for colors a bit.

Oh my god. Much respect for spending 16 hours. I shall personally accept this as a gift to TL and announce that I believe you are a wonderful individual for spending all that time for us. rofl... for your next milestone as Raelcun has said... I think you need to make all of the pictures of Rainbow Dash into a picture of her face.

I know, I wish I had talked to rael before starting, his input would have helped. But to be fair, when I started I wasn't sure that I was actually going to finish. Have to admit there were several times when I really thought I would quit. But after I hit 500, I knew I was going all the way. Felt so great to finish it

Hahaha great! The most amazing and creative 1000 I've seen so far in my forums experience. But 5000 is a way to go. Make it 2000 like it was suggested above. And on the note that you count yourself among the TL community finally with 1000 I catch your drift. Kinda feel like a small shrub with my measly ~300.

nah, mine only has 150 different images or so in a 2000 image grid, hence a lot of duplicates! Toast actually has over 1000 unique pictures, which is insane!

there might be a couple of repeats, but I think this is pretty close.
I'll try to post a higher quality image tomorrow, as this one is using the images from the jpeg, and the source image should be zoomed in a bit more for sharper details.
I used a program called metapixel to create the photomosaic.
I wrote a small python script to chop the image into small squares. link below if you want to try to cut the image up yourself and have a try creating a better quality mosaic! (the image is made of 32x32 smaller images btw)
