As others have said before, there is nothing more infuriating than not being able to respond back to bm after the other person messages you first. Therefore, if ever I play a game during which the other player bmed, I just immediately block communications with him. Then if I'm winning I might just happen to accidentally throw an offensive GG at him. Of course, he won't be able to respond back after the match as I will have blocked him already. But let me make clear that I only do this when the other player started with the bm.

I guess I'm the only person who's anti-social enough to block the shit out of everyone in-game as soon as they say something that's not glhf or friendly banter.

It can be fun sometimes. I had a guy who was apparently pissed about being bad and losing a lot so he started calling my race imbaimba right at the start. I blocked him right away but kept saying things like "Tell me more" and "Oh is that right?" whenever I had time. Watched the replay after to see the chat and he had quite the conversation going. ^_^

I too view Blizzard's decision to make the ignore function not bar you from messaging them as a strange one. Reasoning is identical for yours.

I refuse to be upset by the cowards, because I do not give cowards the power to affect my mood. They are exposed by their actions and deserve nothing more than disregard. I mean you can sense this stuff coming from the BM present within the game, or the rage-quit at the game's termination. So when that whisper box pops up, just minimize and go on with your laddering.

The point of BM is to make the other person angry, not to draw out a conversation.

That's the whole point of the BM + ignore combo. It ticks off the other person with standard level BM but since the other person can't respond, that little bit of anger is bottled up with no outlets. So the anger and frustration keeps boiling and getting worse.

I'm not sure where cowardice comes into play. Honor and bravery have nothing to do with wanting to BM. It's simply there to make the other person feel bad to make the BM-er feel better.

Great thing about this is that it isnt social environment so you can ignore what he is saying or ignore him back after that first line "your mother sux dic". ok ok.. I admit that its always funny to throw water to stove when person is BMing in spirit which I said before but BMers are becoming very smart nowadays so you sometime have to have actually have effort to have good comeback if you start showing your verbal Jackie Chan. And sometime you might even lose which is more frustrating then losing to cannon rush in situation where you saw the first second the pylon was being built and decided to be Chuck Norris and
have with couple of drones 2 good nibble and snipe the probe and kill the pylon with 1 drone to gain mental advantage when going to early game, also maybe 2 snaps with your map control zerglings to give the cannon rusher that message that hes pylon is being killed and he sees the lings but u still kill it with the 1 drone.

haha depend on what happens in game, if you cheese to win(such as cannon rush or anyhting) then I have many times said soemthign then blocked... and its not that im a coward, ive said what I wanted and by you messaging me all it does is reminds me of the cannon rush and I play sloppy in my next game.

Also do the same vs peoople who offensive GG or are just total dicks to begin with. But yeh.. whatd oes it matter anyway, if you won just laugh and move on anyway. Youre the bigger man anyway.

BTW not saying you cheesed OR was offensive BM, just showing why i do it... and I woudlnt even say it makes me the BM feel better..

Some of these people hang out on the teamliquid chat channel so make sure to bug them if you see them. So this guy does not apparently believe that there is cheese in this game despite bling busting me and in base hatching me among other weird all innish things. But I was just playfully teasing him about the cheese in our games (I was off racing too) but when I didn't gg he bmed me and blocked me. Happy Chrimbus.
