I have the question to people with more experience and skill in StarCraft 2.

I play SC2 since the release, I started as Bronze and now I am high Platinum (by high I mean I play almost only with Diamond players) on EU server and mid Diamond on NA server. I play Terran.

Recently I bought KR/TW account. I played 5 placements. All against Bronze players. I lost 2 of these games! One Terran just literally crushed me. I know that EU Platinum is not much, but common, that were Bronze players.

After placements I got into Silver league. I won some games but also lost some to Silver players.

Is Korean ladder that strong, or maybe there are that many smurf accounts? I don't know but I feel very bad right know. I feel like I am the worst player ever.

So it looks for me like that:

NA - Diamond
EU - Platinum/Diamond
KR - Silver

Please, tell me I am not that bad. Please TL community tell me I just need to get to know Korean style of play. But on the other hand I have just played against Bronze Terran that harassed me to death, he had 5 bases, 89 SCVs, better macro all game long. I mean, is that really Bronze?

Regards,
worst player ever

Ok, that really might be the case, but seriously, like I wrote, this Terran clearly was not from Bronze. Actually in my opinion all of those Brozne players I played with were waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay better then EU Bronze players. This one particular Terran played like Diamond. In my opinion, but anyway...

I think that is about right. I am currently high diamond on NA (starting to play vs masters now). I am high gold/low plat on the KR server. It is much harder imo. Generally, I feel more challnged by the mid to high plat KR players, than low masters on NA.
Stop whining about imbalance. You're just bad (likely) at the game and I am probably worse. Just have some fun

89 is not the correct number of scvs to have for 5 bases, it should be 100+, hence he belongs to bronze =P. On a more serious note you don't have sufficient number of observations to make any conclusions.

I find it funny taht Skilledblobl just told exactly what you wanted to hear.

On another note i have no idea. I think it would be interesting to see how high you can go on the korean ladder

Isn't the game basically unplayable with EU-KR lag to begin with?

Maybe on high level. For me it is not that bad. It wasn't definitely the reason for my losses.

Please try post this on the strategy forum somewhere.

You aren't that bad just get to know the KR playstyle and you will be awesome!

The game changed. Your bronze back then is not the standard of bronze it is now.

^ Pretty much that. I was a mid-high Plat back in the BETA, but if you look at the skill difference, it's enormous.

Whether you are good, or bad, is a completely subjective thing. Some people who play sc2 (and some whom dont play) will see you play, and consider you good at that game. This is universally true on all levels. Pros are obviously SEEN as good players, because of the time and dedication they put into what they do.

I'd venture to say this though. The only persons perception of if you're good or bad that matters, IS YOURSELF. You can call yourself good, you can call yourself bad. Truthfully your level of skill can be measured by a 100 different rulers and it will "good" or "bad" based on such.

Personally, I often find myself saying that i'm trash at the game, that i've been getting worse, lost skill etc. When truthfully there's a number of different factors to consider before making such harsh judgements on myself. Logically this is sound, but I still look down on my level of skill at times. Ultimately this makes me seek improvement. I think a lot of pros, or competitive people in general will agree with me in saying in order to improve you need to see a reason for improvement. Recognizing your skill level as somewhere unfavorable, is the start to that process. Always build on your play. You dont build on a finished house.

I'll be the asshole here and say, Yes, you are that bad at the game. If that's how you perceive it, that's what is true to you. Now work to change that. Make yourself what you consider "good". =)

Probably a combination of not being familiar with the playstyle on their servers, and the overall skill level of the players who are playing on the Korean ladder being slightly higher than that of the other ladders. Just my thoughts though.

Adorable.

But yeah that guy was probably a smurf, if you feel like he played at diamond level I high doubt the skill gap is THAT large.

^ Pretty much,

while we see that Koreans are good players, I doubt that a bronzie would have that capacity.

The skill gap is pretty big, the average player is much better. I was genuinely surprised with how good some of the gold/plat players were as I was making my way up the KR ladder. I almost lost a few games to them, and I'm currently masters NA and top 8 diamond KR.

PCBangs often have one shared account that is in bronze or silver but that doesn't mean the person who uses the computer next is at that skill level. I remember reading a player's blog who was complaining about that very point.

True. Althought you can still find several new players on the lower leagues, the increase of skill in bronze/silver are very visible.

Thats not true. My friend whos only ever played wc3, very mediocrely at that, and had no idea you were suppose to make workers beyond 8, came in totally ignorant of sc2 and its units and still dominated all the bronze players he met and placed in the tops of silver.

Don't worry too much about it!I have a masters friend from NA that is currently platinum on the KR/TW on a high-mmr division.

Don't be so hard on yourself and you'll eventually beat everyone ^_^.

@ OP, why does it even matter how bad you are? Just get better then

On a slightly more related note, I'm 112-22 on NA (http://www.sc2ranks.com/us/3259695/MizukiNana) and 312-285 on korea (http://www.sc2ranks.com/tw/853961/%E5%8F%AF%E7%88%B1%E7%B1%B3). The skill gap is insane.
