own3d and twitch team contracts?

For the last month it seemed that Starcraft 2 streaming on TwitchTv became the consensus. I looked into a lot of featured TL streams and almost everyone was using twitch. It almost seemed like a monopoly. Those who were using livestream in the featured section of TL were mostly brodwar streamers that I did not see stream much anymore. Only some were using own3d like Darkforce.

The Korean teams that are newly streaming are using own3d. Startale (except for Rainbow, who started streaming a while ago) and NSHS are using this streaming service. Slayers is using twitch. It looks like the streaming services might be contracting teams now. Having djWHEAT become esports manager of TwitchTV is only one indicator that streaming services are totally into gaming. We begin to see some kind of shape.

Is this already known (I didn't closely follow the scene in the last weeks, I only watched streams), or is this something new in Starcraft 2 streaming, maybe game streaming in general? Anybody with some more information about this?

Own3D pays more in ads than Twitch.tv.
That's the only logical conclusion I can assume.

One new idea i just got was that the Korean teams will just make one account for every player and then give him the email and password, because the Korean players have often problems with the English language. It would only make sense to just use one streaming service then.

I am going to agree with this statement. It was the main reason destiny switched over from twitch to own3d. Own3d could just be contacting these teams directly, offering to do all the set-up, and possibly offering a better payment system than twitch.

Own3d clearly has seen they're falling behind Twitch and are taking steps to try to remain competitive. In terms of your topic specifically Own3d does have some kind of deal at least with Fnatic.

I like Own3d more anyway so I don't mind all the people switching. And I don't get lag as much.

Overall i believe owned has the better backend anyway. I regardly watch LoL (yes yes go boo) and there streams can easily acommedate even 100k people watching someone stream from there home while twitch always seems to have lag issues with numbers running over 40-50k,
It ignores such insignificant forces as time, entropy, and death

The main reasons for own3d being more popular are more direct contact with the top dogs (top streamers have the top tech support of own3d always available for them to contact on skype and I believe are able to contact the CEO whenever they want).
Ads pay more for own3d.tv partners and own3d.tv's service has always been more consistant. Even with own3d.tv being based in Germany their streaming quality doesn't change between continents.

Also own3d advertisess for individual stramers on their twitter, which doesn't really do much in terms of extra viewers but probably just feels nice for the streamers.

This is why I like Own3d better. I feel it's smoother at larger events, although twitch has gotten a lot better lately. Remember when people were using sites like livestream?

fairly certain own3d has servers in asia that allow for better connectivity. I don't think they sign team contracts unless your on MSI fnatic where MSI sponsers own3d, kawaiirice used to use twitch until his sponsers / team owner told him otherwise. If you get partnered you simply run ads, and collect money its the same between.

Yeah I'm tempted to just say this for the Korean teams as a whole streaming, or one of the players figures it out and shows the others how to set up a stream. For foreigners, I feel like they're switching for the $$$, ex. Destiny. Unless a team (like TL) is directly sponsored, then there will be people that want more money by getting more money per ad, while the streamers that don't make a living off of streaming just don't care and keep with Twitch.

I've heard many streamers on twitch say this and that they are considering moving for that reason.

With own3d, i see that the broadcaster can put 3 ads out at once. I think this is why they get more money. My only assumption, but i do like twitch better.

Own3d pays a lot of money per ads but obviously players like destiny and certain teams get paid aside from just ads to switch from twitch.tv to own3d.

small partners get 1.8 dollars per 1k viewers.

large ones get 3 per 1k viewers.

Own3d pays better but honestly the service is shit compared to twitch TV. The ads often bug out and mute the main stream, or sometimes keep the screen black forever (no, I don't adblock).

Its too bad that the fact that the ads pay better will make people stream there even though the website isn't nearly as nice.

iv been watching a few streams and they said that they had own3d as a backup. twitch would randomnly ban and ppl couldnt stream for weeks or even a month without calling and mass emailing. LoL seems to be rampant on own3d (idk why). other than that i don't know (not a streamer)
