Earlier on during MLG Providence Championhip Sunday, I was standing near the player area watching SeleCT versus Nestea. (See a theme within my blogs?) Standing behind SeleCT was a group of Korean players including MarineKingPrime, MVP, and a few others I didn’t recognize. In between game 1 and game 2, PuMa and another player push by me and my friend to greet the Korean crowd. They joke around and smiles are all around. All of a sudden, I spot INcontroL out of the corner of my eye. He kind of hung back until the joking stops. I didn’t know that PuMa had lost his match to Hero. When iNcontroL saw his opening:
iNcontroL: Are you all right? Did you play good? No?
PuMa: *Sheepish smile and shook his head*
Instantly, INcontroL wraps him up in an epic bear hug. And gave him a pep talk.
I felt so awkward, sad, and proud all at once. Awkward because I wanted to talk to iNcontroL, but didn’t want to interrupt the moment. Sad because I’m an EG fanboy and I didn’t want anyone from the team to lose.
Most of all, I was proud of the display of sportsmanship and camaraderie. More and more, I start to see Starcraft as an eSport. And here was yet another aspect that I saw that proves this. Ever watch a quarterback fuck up a 3rd down conversion or overthrow a touchdown pass? Ever see the losing team’s faces after a basketball match? How bad the player feels and how much the team rallies around their player? Yeah, exactly.
Props to iNcontroL and much love to PuMa and the other EG players. So inspiring <3.

This is so sad. Sad to see Greg and Geoff breaking up. They were so close, but now...

That's why Incontrol is EG's captain: He may not be the best player, he acts as that paternal figure and supports the team through good and bad. Hopefully Puma and Huk do well tomorrow at Dreamhack.

Captain are such an important piece of a team. In every sport there's a captain.
I dont really know if other major teams have captains but I think it would be pretty usefull. Right now I feel like the managers are playing the role of the captain, not that its bad, but its probably not optimal. They dont play the games at the same level as the pros so they probably cant understand everything about a match. Maybe im ignorant too.
EG seems to have a good captain, gj.

HuK was in the booth with Puma multiple times throughout this final, much like he was with MC at DH Invitational. It's great to see players supporting each other.

No.. I would venture a guess he doesn't care that you aren't a fanboy. It would be similar to someone going 5-0 in their placement matches.. it's mundane, nobody actually cares about your placement match record.. know what I mean?

Okay...so you're informing me that you've read things I've written. What am I supposed to do with that?
Edit: I don't know what you've heard from people or read in comments, but I haven't said anything about you that was negative. I used to go to the gym 6 times a week and I respect the self-motivational skills it takes to be a bodybuilder. All I've seen from the Team Liquid that I left behind a long time ago is the inability of Starcraft 2 fans to be respectful.
Edit 2: And one more thing just to clarify. When I said what I said when I mentioned you by name, what I had in mind was the Artosis / Frog speech and how misrepresented it became in this community, whether you care to realize it or not. I'm trying to make it as clear as possible that I DO have a lot of respect for the people at the top right now. No, I have never seen you go around this website posting blog entries in random forums. But honestly, I've never really gotten involved in ANY forum to the point that I know the difference. And what I have seen you do is weed out a lot of garbage by failing to respect extraneous garbage that people throw at you. And I have read your most recent blog entry and I agree with pretty much all of it.

EG really seems to have that family feeling, through the youtube videos and team house and what not. Just makes your heart all warm and fuzzy on the inside.

I have to thank you for writing this blog, as it managed to finally get the attention of some mods and incontrol to our friend VWSChe and take the proper course of action...your blog is much more enjoyable to read then all four of his put together.
