EPTI'm gonna do a blog post and tell you Americans and others about Mortens Evening
First off, my first name is Morten.
In Denmark as well as other countries we celebrate Saint Morten (Martin in some languages) the 10th of november in the evening.

Saint Morten was to be appointed bishop, but being a humble man he tried to hide in a geesecoop/sty. The geese however cackled like crazy and he was found and appointed bishop. He used these powers to demand that each year on the day of his appointment, geese should be slaughtered and eaten. Today however most Danes eat duck instead due to the smaller more appropriate size, and of course the fact that duck are MOTHERFUCKING delicious.
So what does this have to do with me? Well after moving away from home to study, I don't get as many great meals as I used to get before (you know, being lazy and all), however each year for christmas, me and my brother psyche eachother up for the christmas duck . This year however we are having goose (which is good, but not nearly as awesome as duck).
Due to this my family has decided to take up this tradition once more. So tomorrow (traditionally it is tonight, but since I am going home for the weekend we'll do it tomorrow) I am going to embark on the quest of eating duck till I barf... And then eat some more.
To all of you out there thinking, why do you care that much about eating duck, I have this to say. Back in the days christmas was all about the presents and the awesome candy and stuff, but I have found that as I have gotten older all these things are nice, but it is the duck that I look forward to the most, so since christmas has been degraded in my mind to a simple "eat and get presents day" Tomorrow is pretty much my favorite day of the year.
