More observations on Koreans.. this is kind of the.. whoa that's weird stuff.

Definite culture difference.

Koreans...

- use toilet paper for EVERYTHING. Seriously. This country does not have paper towels.

- use Internet Explorer T.T any Koreans that use Chrome or Firefox get madd props from me.

- use miniature bath towels... I don't know why or how.. but they are hand towel sized.

- eat in 10 minutes. No after-dinner talking. Eat and go. When drinking however, everyone talks. But they seriously eat SO fast.

- don't sleep. My roommates go to sleep at like 2 or 3 and wake up at 6-7. C'mon man, get some SLEEP.

- don't really talk shit. Weird, every shit talking I've heard comes from the Americans here. Good, I suppose.

- love to drink. I haven't met a Korean that doesn't drink. Even girls drink. Even professors drink. My North Koreanology professor took my class out to dinner and bought everyone beer and anju. Fcking awesome? Yes.

- love chicken. Watched Old Boy? Yeah, x100. Buying chicken and soju is a common bet around here.

SHOCKING REVELATION

- aren't all pro at starcraft. Some are REALLY good even though they're just casual gamers, but I played a 4 v 4 on BW recently, and some of them were... not so good. They referred to me as a "progamer" HA. Funny.

- clean a lot. They like clean environments, I guess, and do laundry very often, whereas I do it when it needs doing or it makes me uncomfortable.

- don't use deodorant? Stick at least? I don't know... I don't ever see Koreans apply deodorant... And I never see it in stores... maybe I just can't read the signs. lol

- Study hard. They take their classes seriously, and their tests seriously. Way more seriously than many other American college students I know. Probably carried over from their ridiculous primary and secondary schooling.

- Sing. All of them. In tune, and some with harmonies. Many trips to the noraebang proved it. Amazing.

- are generous. I have not met a stingy Korean. They are more than willing to spend money on friends, buying food and alcohol. This is of course reciprocated, but it's a really nice feeling overall.

- are awesome. All of them I have met so far, have been more than welcoming, friendly, and will go out of their way to help me or make sure I'm doing OK. And they're hilarious. Especially when drunk and using English. If you have the chance to come to Korea, talk to people, don't only watch starcraft. Koreans are incredible people. It takes a while to understand the culture a little, but they're awesome. ^^

Oh and here's some wallpapers I made:

When I was in Korea the towels stood out for sure, thought it was just the hotel though.

Man, not having napkins was SO annoying jesus. Even when you go to a fast food restaurant they literally hand you 1 napkin and that's it.

All my Korean friends tell me that they need to cause it's part of their examinations so everyone learns.
@ the deodorant thing, weird, but it was a running joke among my Korean friends that everyone sweats way more than them. It was true though, I/all the white dudes we ran with would be dripping sweat just from being outside and they'd be in sweaters and shit. Weird.

It's true they don't sweat. Also apparently that there's some saying that one in ten people (Koreans) sweat for the rest of the people. Lol.

Eating fast probably has to do with the military service. You don't get to tool around when you're in the force, and probably everyone has or will experience it. Even the girls get raised by fathers that've been in it too, so yeah

I can definitely disagree with some of your points, but overall I agree

These three I don't agree with.
People talk shit all the time, in any country. Koreans are quite famous for this...to be honest. You'd understand me if you were born in Korea.
Yes, they love to clean their rooms+wear clean clothes, but they don't give a rat's ass about the environment/public. It's not where they sleep, so they don't give a shit. Incredible. They are number one patriots when it comes to their pride but they're just all talk.
I'll make the assumption that you're a foreigner...Koreans are generally more friendly/generous/respectful of foreigners than their own people.

I'm glad you're with the good people, though. Hope you have wonderful experience in Korea!

I got a kick out of this one, because the Japanese use tissues for everything.

Also apparently my sleep schedule is much like the Koreans...procrastination leads to staying up late, class leads to waking up early lol

They sell paper towels in most supermarkets, and the deodorant can be bought at places like E-Mart. It's not very popular here though, and it's really expensive in comparison to back home.

As for the cleaning - it's true for some people, but some of the people in my goshiwon are filthy slobs. (Most of them tbh.) This ranges from middle-aged men to university aged girls/guys. I do love how the subways/shops/most restaurants are usually kept really clean though. The cleaning lady where I work is really nice/good at her job.

tbh Asians in general don't smell that much due to the shortage of their apocrine glands.

The singing thing is true IMO. When a bunch of waygookins are at a noraebang it's generally fun but awful screaming and shouting excpet for that one friend who can actually sing. On the other hand I've yet to go to a noraebang with a Korean who couldn't sing in tune and I've been to quite a few.

hmmm I just thought of something if this is true. The reason why asian guys seem to have more trouble getting girls in america may be due to their weak pheremone output..

The deodorant sticks are like miniature and like $7. I bought one as it was an emergency... luckily my American friend had some extra, otherwise I would've been screwed. O.O

Yeah, I'm sure people talk shit, but I've only met nice Koreans so far, luckily. ^^

I have a regular sized towel, but my roommates' ones are mini.
