I was doing really, really well on ladder. I defeated alot of mid-masters and alot of good high diamonds.
Then when Season 4 started I got promoted into masters, I was the happiest man alive.
Then all of a sudden I started to play really, really bad. Even losing to rank 50 diamonds. Two weeks later I'm still doing really bad, while I managed to get placed into masters in season 4 I'm now getting beat hard by players that are rank 50 diamonds. Ofcourse everyone has it's loss streaks and win streaks but mine always lasted for a few days and then I came back to winning. Also today I played 11 games and out of those 11 I only won 4.
I don't want to imply that I'm better than all of the ones I got beaten by but it seemed that the losses weren't justified.
What do you guys do when you have these massive slumps?

Just play more it will even out eventually.

It's just so strange that all of a sudden I can't even defeat low-diamonds while I got promoted to masters just one month ago.

Hm... well, maybe take a break for laddering for a day or two, and practice against some of your friends? If you're gonna have a losing streak, might as well iron it out in customs and not lose ladder points imo.

Theres barely any difference between low masters and diamond tbh
A good player in diamond league will beat a bad player in masters.
Also its a new season, rank means nothing, someone could've been top 8 last season and not played much this season and be rank 50.
Usually I take a break, before I go back I go over everything that I lost to, make a list of everything to be aware of and then play some more, usually works out.

play some customs w/ friends imo. Then try to string a couple of wins together and go from there.

Where did I say that I played perfectly? If you have nothing useful to add to this thread then please refrain from even opening it.

You said the losses were not justified. That would imply you didnt make mistakes there was some other cause to your losses.

This. Ladder rank (aside from which league you're in) is almost worthless. It's more an indicator of how much you play. Only in master's can you see an actual ratio.
Especially at the beginning of the season as well, people who have only played a handful of games could be high dia MMR, but only 3 wins b/c they've played 4 games.
you're putting too much emphasis on the actual standing in the division.
Excalibur_z's ladder guide might be helpful to let you feel better abt your position.
Also, i'd recommend taking a ladder break for a day or so, just to mix things up & take off the pressure
Edit:

This guy has a point. it's all about mindset, i find it a lot more helpful when i admit mistakes, then try to fix them, and get a lot better.

Lately I've had no problem defeating high masters(rank 20 and up) but then lose to high diamonds. I think it's just a consistency thing: you gotta practice and stay on top of things every single game. This might get boring though

i just take a break :/ play a few custom games with my friends to get momentum again :D

Take a day off and think about what caused you to lose each game. I went on a 12-game losing streak earlier this week. I then resolved to:
1) scout more often 2) periodically consider what my opponent is thinking about doing next 3) slow down on the eco & make sure I'm covered against early pressure/one base plays/harrassment 4) not throw away early advantages on careless engagements, but tech up & drone smartly when ahead
|
Never become satisfied by how well you've been doing, that leads to content and lackadaisical playing (at least it does for me sometimes) which can lead to embarrassing losses. Never forget how much you suck, and use every game like it's an improvement opportunity, not like it's a chance to prove how good you are.

A good thing that you say that since I noticed that I lose alot of my games just not scouting if he expo's or not, stupid stuff like that.

When I'm having a losing streak I just go to bed and sober up.

What do you guys do when you have these massive slumps? During beta, was top 500 in Eu. All seasons have been masters. Now i am diamond and constantly lose to diamond. Can't believe it is happening to me and I lose even more. Massive slumps here as well.

Try doing in-depth analysis of your replays, carefully pick apart pro playing, and play fewer games (like maybe 4-5 per day if you currently play 11).

This. Masters are by no means untouchable by any diamonds. Your arrogance will be your fall if you think you can freestyle to mid/high masters.

Everyone loses to worse players every now and then. Its not that big of a deal.
