Well, I decided to write this first because, I don't know what the hell to do. I just don't, and I guess this is more of a question+confession kind of thread rather than a rant (which i usually do TL Blogs about). Also, the story kinda weaves and curves around, and I guess I'll have to throw in a lot of names and shit like that, but I'll make up names for people that I do know.
WARNING! LARGE ASS WALL OF TEXT!!!!!!!!
A little about me: [spoiler I'm probably the 3rd shyest guy you will ever meet, and a bit less of a stereotypical asian that you think, i do act a bit more white than my asian friends, and its funny how I can still beat every freaking single person in whatever game they play (and i'm pretty bad at them too, jesus christ I dont get how FOBs from china can't play DotA for their fucking lives LOOLOLOLOL TROLOLOLOLOLOLOLO, SC2 they are just bad even though i'm just diamond ROFL!). Okay, back to the point. I'm not really the person to take the initiative, but after about two years in leadership programs and having to actually teach and lead little kids (around 5th grade), I started to gain confidence in whatever I did, how I acted, and how I interacted with new people. I'm pretty much what you think of the average student (maybe give or take... 3.17GPA that ain't that good), nothing too smart, but everybody always thought of me as some kind of genius, which I am not. I'm not the kind of guy who likes to hurt people in anyway, whether it be physically or mentally, I just feel really guilty if I accidentally make somebody sad or mad (but i don't give a shit in vid games. NO MERCCYYY!).[/spoiler]
So, last year was my first year at high school, and I barely knew anybody who came from my middle school (they all went to some other high school), and I pretty had to find a bunch of friends again. It was pretty awkward trying to talk to people for the first few weeks, but I finally found a group of fellow Starcrafters like myself to hang out and play with. So anyways, I met the girl that I like in Biology, she was always nice and helpful to everybody, but I didn't have a crush on her or anything like that, she was more of the kind of friend that you only talked to if you needed help for homework.I'm just gonna call her Jessica because that's the first name that I could think of :D.
Now, fast forward a year, and its the beginning of the school year. She's now in my PE class (I actually don't really need to take the class for a semester, really don't know why I'm taking the class now :0) and we just start talking to each other a lot. I found that we had a lot in common, that we always laughed at the same stuff (if theres one girl who you can talk to hours about reddit+ragecomics+relatives about, its her). After a while, we just connected, and we just started to hang out more with each other. I started to get attracted to her, and I mingled around with the thought of having a girlfriend. I thought that it would be.... something new I guess, I mean every crush on a girl I ever had on was a girl that I usually wouldn't talk with or barely interact with, so this was kinda new to me. I asked some friends (who have had girlfriends before) how I felt about the girl should I do, etc. etc. and they just said "go and try to ask her out. If she says no, then its the end of the line, the world goes on for you. If she says yes, then, well you're in luck". I held the thought in my mind but never really thought of it.
Then, this week, I decided to take the bull by the horns. After treating her to ice cream and stuff like that, yesterday I decided to give her the big question: "So, do you want to go out sometime next week?". She just looks at me kinda surprised and said "I'll, ask my parents and see if I can go out sometime". At first I thought, wait, what? Really? you need to ask your parents to go out? whatever, we'll see what happens :D. After that, I just was like YESSSS!!!!!!!!! well kinda yes. Then, she started to act a bit.. well I guess all i can say is weird. Later in the day, one of her friends came over and was like "I knew it! I just knew it! you guys always look so happy together, I always knew that you were going to date each other!".
So, on Thursdays we have days called Block days where we only have 3 classes a day but they are twice as long, and I asked her in the middle of class. After that, she just... avoids me for the rest of the day. today too. The same friend that told me that she and me would look cute together as a couple came up to me and told me that Jessica was kinda shocked. I don't know what the hell that means, but then her friend just tells me to just wait it out and that I had done everything that I could possibly do, and now its just up to Jessica to figure it all out. So, Thursday night I find out some bad news on Jessica's side, her grandfather was in pretty bad condition and was in the hospital. At that point, I just thought [wow, I asked at the worst time possible, my fucking luck is not too good.... =.=. I just consult some friends, and they are just like "be patient, just give her some time to figure it all out, you need to give her space." Later, one of her/my (who is one of the most awkward kids I have ever met, still friend with him :D he's cool, but depressing to talk to..) friend walks over me and says + Show Spoiler +
Him:Hey dude! How many of "my name"s are there that you know of in Me:Umm.. one Him: Well how many Jessica(s) are there in 2nd period? Me: *gets a bit pissed at him running around in circles and not getting to the point * yes I DID ask her out... kay?
Now, today she does the same thing, she just avoids me 0.0. I just ask her friend and i say," did I do anything wrong?" She just told me that she just doesn't know what to do, that she's asking some of her friends too for advice, she is having family matters (well I already knew about it) and she needs a bit more time. Then, during lunch one of my friends who hangs out with Jessica a lot just calls in and was like "hey whats happening between you and Jessica? Why is she always talking about you to Laura(one of her friends)?". I just said that I would tell him about it later, because I felt that it would be kinda awkward if I told HIM out of all people. Later, the awkward dude comes along and just talks to me about it, saying that she just seems freaked out on the whole situation, and she was asking Laura about it, and also asked a pretty good question, if I was going to take her out to homecoming dance. I really haven't thought of it, but I guess that would be coming on too strong (that's in two weeks...). I ask my friends again about the whole situation, and they tell me that I should just go along, let her chill, don't be too clingy to her but don't be too far away from her.

Edit: Decided to add a song+music video that sums up how I feel right now:
I read mainly the second half, but mainly I would just say don't scare her away. High school in general tends to be a stressful period for adolescents. Give her space, but you should still keep in contact with her if you can. Like send her a short txt msg or fb msg something along the lines of "hope you're having a good day ". Basically some words of encouragement. Don't send anything pressuring like "are you okay?" or "want to hang out?" unless you think it's appropriate.
The tricky part is that homecoming is coming up, so I'm pretty sure she expects you to ask her to take her, unless she really doesn't like you ( which doesn't seem like it). It's really hard to say when, depends on when you feel like you should. Just don't wait too long!
At least that's my opinion. I'm 25 btw, so I'm done with all that crap now haha
Edit: I thought about the above's comment, but I think considering it's only been two days, her grandfather's condition, and that she's still asking her friends what to do and they say she's still trying to decide, I don't think she's rejected you yet. So don't give up hope yet! Although, IMO most asian girls have a hard time saying no, and like to avoid/ignore the issue instead.
AND SHE JUST SAID YESSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! going out for lunch on wensday :DDDDDDDDDDD
and yeah.... i guess i'm not too good at hints.
So... its really a maybe for the dance, depends on how she feels like?
You're being clingy, she liked you when you were normal. Now you're just being a weird clingy guy. Just pretend she just another girl which she is. She's just a girl you talk too. Just because you don't talk to a lot of girls the way you do doesn't make you special too her lol. Don't force shit honestly, the worse thing you can do.
Edit: Even though she said Yes, still don't be so crazy over her.
Sounds like you're on a fun road then, remember to just enjoy it for what it is, and in the moment. When your away or out of the moment just try not to think of it as much, because it will come back!

fun? this sounds awful lol
sounds like she comes from an old school family and there is 0 chance of getting laid here but you will have to dish out cash on her. lose/lose

I know you want to date her, but I think you should just find her/call her and ask her if she wants to hang out, no pressure. She probably just needs a friend for the moment, and by hanging out with her you can show her that you have the qualities she likes.
I don't think it's good that there's so much silence and awkwardness between you two. Open up the lines of communication without being emo. Be cool.. and friendly
Edit: Just realized you posted that she said "yes". GJ

What's up with all the people telling him to GG and that he's clingy? I think what he did was perfectly fine. Rather the girl is just having the wrong reaction to it.
Give it time man. Worst thing you can do when a girl is acting confusing is to pursue it. Let it drop and pretend like everything's fine. Don't suffocate her. You'll push her further away.
Be like neutral. Don't ignore her but don't pursue her either. Let her come to you.
Don't initiate conversations or force anything. You guys have a date wed. Now til then dont say anything first, let her ask you how you're doing, what's up? Etc. You're walking a thin line of appearing clingy. If she really likes you she'll want to talk to you and initiate. Until the date just beast it out and try your best to appear occupied and busy with your life even if you're shaking with anticipation. Don't ever let her think you're more into her than she is. Puts girls in a tough spot. Take it slow. Then take it down another notch. Play the game with patience and you won't shoot yourself in the foot.
if she's asian, she probably doesn't know how to deal with guys and relationships. just remember that the most important thing is getting to know each other and hanging out, not the idea of having a girlfriend/boyfriend... well actually, maybe the second part is more important in high school.
experiment and do whatever lol. if you worry less about what a date is and should i take her to homecoming and how many texts can i send, and if you just go ahead and do those things like an alpha male, your life will probably be better.

Always works.
I so wanna do this just to see a girl's reaction. Obviously i wouldn't be saying this to a girl i was interested in, but for shits and giggles i think it'd be hilarious.

Extra creepy voice and face included in all!
I've done it. Persian girl I was helping in political science. Her hair was so gorgeous, rich and flowing, I swear. She must have been from Disney or some shit.
