Haha so a few months ago I recorded a couple of the jams my friends and I had with a video camera for fun. I finally stripped the audio out of the video and uploaded just the audio to sound cloud for one of the jams

http://soundcloud.com/aikepah/old-jam

I think it sounds pretty decent for being recorded on a camcorder Anyways...

Me - Bass Guitar (I sucked pretty hard, excuses and such go here)
Nate - Electric Guitar (He played some interesting stuffs)
Chase - Drums (Lots of awesome stuff from Chase as always)

We were just screwing around and this jam is the first one we had in like 8 or 9 months, so it was fun to get back into it.

It's 52 minutes long so I don't expect you to listen to the whole thing (just kidding yes I do) but there is definitely some cool stuff in there, especially when I'm not being a complete noob :D

Oh yea this is all made up on the spot, so if it doesn't flow very well that's why Somebody will change and try something else while everybody else is still doing something and yea just lots of experimentation going on.

I skipped around until 24 minutes and then gave up. It'd be cool if it was something you were working on but you guys were.. just playing in the same room you weren't playing together.

To become a really good team, you guys have to do a few things. I will detail them here.

Macro:
many young players dream of having good macro but just don't have the dedication (or mechanics to pull it off)
The first thing you want to do regarding macro is keep your minerals low, of course since you're in the real world you might consider your "tickets" to your show as minerals. Keep them low though!!!! If you're walking around with lots of tickets in your pocket you aren't producing units and buildings or "groupies" and "fans"

Next thing is micro:
I love micro so I'll spend more time talk about it:
The Marine Stutter Step or on the stage the "Duck Walk"
this technique is kind of hard to describe so I'll link a replay instead

Another good micro trick that is used by many is the "Head Bang"
This is pretty easy to execute however if you don't macro well only your friends will see it. Just simply stand shoulder width apart and throw your head towards the ground then back to normal position. A lot of players like to add some horns in for flavor. \m/

There a lot more techniques to learn you should do so by watching and analyzing replays. Some players I recommend are:
The Beatles (straight forward macro play) Very rich
Dream Theater (crazy crazy strategies)
Meshuggah (I won't spoil them just watch replays)
Sorry for the brief message but its getting late. I hope this advice helps bring your Starcr.... music experience to the Master level of play.

i like your drummer's rhythms.

your bass player sucks pretty hard -- oops that's you!

you guys gel pretty well.

would be nice to see some composition out of some of this.

ok i'm done.

Hahaha

Normally when we are jamming we play a little smoother than this, but we had taken a huge break and this was our first attempt at getting back into it. Actually we jammed for about another hour but the camera ran out of memory so it only recorded the first half That kinda sucks because like the last 15 minutes of this jam was the coolest thing in the entire universe haha we stopped playing, and then somebody started screwing around and we turned it into this epic dance groove haha fun times.

I blame the chaos on my sucking, Nate (the guitar player) having ADD (this was before he was on aderol(sp?)) and chase being chase on the drums trying to be as awesome as possible all the time

Now that I think about it, we jammed for 2 1/2 hours this day. But the camera only had 8GB of memory on it and at full HD it takes up like 8GB/hr, so we only got the first hourish worth of the jam... now that I can remember this jam better it was a lot clearner in the 2nd hr, and then the last 30 minutes was teh super fun jam that was completely different than the rest. But it wasn't the dance song I thought before, it was an epic 50s love song jam lolol.
