For such a young person you've sure seen a lot and remember a lot - there aren't a lot of people who have memories of FBH dancing. I also find it amazing that you found RTS genre suiting for you (well I guess sunken defence isn't exactly RTS but it's definitely a start) at such an early age, when people of that age would have played "kid" games. But then again, I got SCBW as my 8th birthday present (I actually got both SC and SCBW at the same time but not as a battlechest) so who knows. Perhaps 7/8 is not that young after all... Regarding gamer pride. I have "urban simulation games" as part of the hobbies section in my extended version resume. I also talked about e-sports and volunteering (I translate interviews and stuff from time to time) in my job interviews, and yes I am employed right now hahaha. So keep your head high (but not too high that would make haters hate) and enjoy the game, but don't lose sight of other important things in life as well. *edit: and I'm a big blog reader as well. I love blogs with actual genuine content, so here's your first 5/5!

I don't know what would have happened to me if I had Starcraft at 7, probably not very much other than Starcraft. When I played WoW (yeah i know boo HISSS!!!) I guilded up and there was a 13 year old in my guild. At first I thought.. wtf im playing with kids here... but as it turned out he was a really nice guy and my good god he was hardcore and VERY skilled in fact he put a lot of the older guys to shame But yeah, there really is nothing cooler than being proud of what you love, haters will hate. I hope in 4 years I'll see you competing at an MLG and be all "I read that guys blog when he was 13 and just starting out on the road of ownage!" Best of luck to ye =]

I like you already. You're not the type of young poster that I was when i first joined. I was an immature little kid who would try to act "badass". it took me a long time to actually become a some-what quality poster. If you're 13 years old and already masters, you're close to being on the same pace as Flash or Baby! GL and of course have fun.

Anyways, I believe there is an easy explanation to it. It's easier to learn new things when you're at a young age, especially with foreign languages. I am pretty certain the same might be the case with Starcraft and, well, sports in general. I remember having started my "RTS career" with Age of Empires 2 at around the age of 8. I wish I had found more satisfaction in playing the game genuinely than throwing the opportunity away to get into RTS games early by typing in "how do i turn this on" (or "big daddy" for the AoE 1 nostalgics) every game Anyway, I enjoy what I do, even if it's in plat and not in masters, and I get the feeling that you do as well. That's the most important thing. Keep it up.
