Should I Quit?

Hi! I have a serious question here and what else better to go to than the starcraft community. That question that i have is simple, should i quit? I've played broodwar for a few years before sc2 game out 3-4 years or so and then i went into sc2. i was pretty decent at bw not the best but i was able to get C- on iccup one season in under 50 games and so i thought i'd transition well into sc2. What i didn't expect was the computer power required to run the monster of a game and with a shitty ass computer its pretty horrid. I've played the 1st season fully and got about 3.5k diamond, 2nd season i gave up half way and this season i just stopped even though i've managed diamond all 3 times. the reason isn't because of addiction or simply because i'm bad its just that my computer cant handle the game at all and cannot manage a frame rate past 5 when nothing. my frames per second is 10 if no units or buildings are on screen, 5 or under if there is stuff on the screen, and 2 if there are more than about 20 units. I can't afford a new computer or any upgrades so therefor i am stuck with what i have and i just want to know what people think if i should just quit because the game lags too much and make it too frustrating to enjoy it.

If you don't like it, take a break. You don't have to sign your life away, lock SC2 in a safe where someone else has the key, and forget it forever while disowning all its friends.

Wait till you get a new computer or you crave it enough to stand the bad FPS.

If your computer is that slow, you could just go back to bw.

I would quit and get a decent job then focus on playing/enjoying sc2. It's easy for me to say but its the best advice I can give. Once you have a good job, then maybe you can afford one of those cpu upgrades

If your computer can't run it in a playable manner even on lowest settings I would quit until I had a setup where I could play properly. If you already have all the peripherals I'm sure someone in the tech support section could give you a build for $300-$350 that would run it no problem. Maybe even a bit cheaper if you just want it to be playable on lowest.

Keep rocking on with BW until you can afford a new PC. Playing like that is only going to stress you out, and that ruins the entire point of playing a game.

My two cents though: I think you could upgrade your machine for extremely cheap though if you don't buy top of the line hardware. I used to play Sc2 decently well on a 7 year old machine with only an upgrade to RAM in all those years. If you can find dated RAM/Graphics cards you can probably get away with spending less than 100 bucks and have a machine that can run Sc2
