Ask your doctor to test you for Vasovagal reaction. A person with your physical characteristics who also has vasovagal reaction could be in a lot of trouble should you get in an accident on a trip with friends.

Also, are you asian?

I'm Asian, yeah.

Oh if you're asian and your doctor doesn't see any actual problems then it's probably just genetics. My mom's side of the family all have low-ish blood pressure and have virtually identical body types to yours.
¯\_(ツ)_/¯ There are three kinds of people in the world: those who can count and those who can't.

Yes. But thats probably to be expected from an Asian. Its not unhealthily skinny, just thin. (aka, go work out, bro!)

130 at 5'8'' isn't light (underweight). Especially not at 17.

Do you ever have your vision black out when you stand up after sitting or lying down?

That used to happen to me during the summer and shit was annoying.

that happens to most people i thought (happens to me all the time) it's because of blood rushing into the lower part of your body, brain takes a second or two to adjust to the slightly lower pressure.

(I might be totally wrong about this, i'm by no means an expert)

O_o

That happens to like no one i know....

@Topic:
If the doctor sais it's no problem and you feel healthy otherwise then it most probably is no problem.

I have low blood pressure too, and my doctor was acting like it is a good thing. I don't know a lot of medical stuff, but I know that it's better than high blood pressure

If you're afraid the physician may be wrong, you should get a second opinion. And no, by second opinion I don't mean asking people on forums about video games.

I'm pretty tall and have low blood pressure, I used to have issues with blacking out sometimes after having sat/lied down and gotten up quickly, had to be careful about that.

I think it matters how low it is... a little low is good. Low blood pressure means you can eat salt without worrying :p

Alright, haha. Sweet. Thanks!

you hesitate to believe the words of a trained medical professional yet completely trust a forum post.

are you very athletic? a strong heart has a lower blood pressure than normal, so that could be a good sign.

on another note, in my research over the summer this may propogate multiple sclerosis later on too, potentially. still very hypothetical at this point as it was only proposed in 2009 but i guess its something to keep in the back of your mind for when you get older

Don't worry too much. My mom has pretty low blood pressure (she is often around (60-70) to (110-130)) and she is fine.

Think about it this way. Most North Americans suffer from hypertension eventually in their life. You, being hypotension to begin with, will suffer hypertension less severely later in your life. If anything, you should be happy.
