Hello fellow TL.Netters,
I am writing this, shouting and screaming for help.
I have to leave my country, Mexico, because of violence and personal issues, I will be arriving at Belfast, United Kingdom on mid-september, I booked a flight with the Mile-points of an uncle.
I only have enough money to sustain myself for a month over there.
I am looking for a job online ANYWHERE on the UK, because I have a connection in London, so I could just miss the flight and take a bus or train to any city.
My father passed away, my mother has no economic possibilities and I need to make this happen for myself at whatever cost.
I am lucky to have my Spanish EU passport as my grandparents were spanish, I now have it in my hands.
If any of you anywhere in Western Europe, could help me get a job, I would appreciate it FOR LIFE and pay you with an equivalent or better favor whenever possible.
I am 22 years old, In the mid of my Marketing career. Love online marketing, have experience in it, willing to learn anything or work at any possible job.
Your BW and SC2 friend,
J.

Good luck! I can't help you but I think that you will make it work. You might even enjoy yourself escaping to somewhere new.
|
You can always work labor and then try and finding a marketing job. That way you wont starve!
|
You can always take out a loan or credit card to get you by in the meantime... you won't starve....
|
JFO,
i recommend you familiarise yourself with how to get the dole and the housing support money. with those two aids it is possible to make ends meet with little work on you part. enjoy our country.

Wow that's rough. Unfortunately I'm not in the UK and can't help you .
I wish you the best of luck.

It's unfortunate how small the Esports scene is in UK. I think the only team based there is Dignitas?
|
Your best bet would probably be some sort of a telemarketing job. There are tons of those out there and they tend to be hiring 24/7 since people quit a lot. While most of them have a reputation of being completely horrible jobs, you can still make decent money, if you're a good salesman.

I'm fairly certain that in a situation like his, he's looking for any job and not limiting himself to esports lol.

Good luck bro, maybe you should try and trickle down to Spain and try and find work there? It may be easier for you if you can make it there!

Uhh the easiest way to make ends meet in spain is to join a group of squatters and try to take over some place.. which says something about the economy there.

When moving to a new city/country whatever, its important that you get good backups in place and plan for contingencies while also not overspending. I would probably start out with something easy and reliable to at least get a minimum cash flow, then start putting away 10% of whatever you make, even if you think you will starve, eat more ramen.
Then start putting out resumes and such for a real job in a nice area, and use your little bit of savings that you accrued to get established at the location of your new job. Ride your bike to work, car is too much for now.
Good luck man, best wishes to you. If you are starving next month definitely let us know, you would be surprised how helpful us TLers are

Look into online work. There's a company called LeapForce you might try, or PM me for another. I work for that one and they have an issue with forums and being named on them.
Either way, it's a decent set up and could be helpful for extra funds on the side. Also, if you need, WWOOF it up.
Good luck to you.

I agree with everyone else.. Get a job as like a gas jockey or something until you find one in your field on interest, just to make sure you don't starve. And hey, you'll make friends right?
