One day I decided to go on for a looong stream, so I sat down and drew for 5 hours in a row for two days, and actually completing two "pieces" during that time (which was awesome since me actually completing something is quite rare x_x). This gave me the opportunity to make something I'd been interested in doing for some time - a timelapse to upload to my then empty youtube account. After many hours of editing and re-encoding the film (it was my first ever attempt to use Premiere Pro) I had a sped-up 12 minute video of me drawing; it was a success! Uploading it didn't grant me any youtube fame though - as I'm writing this it only has 124 views, and that's since May! xD
Summer came after that, and I got a job that I desperately needed in order to be able to pay rent after June. After saving up enough money for me to live on until at least next year I took a break in order to get some stuff done before school starts and to enjoy summer break a bit. About a week or so after my break had started, I discovered the Skyrim thread here on TL, and fell in love immediately. After a while though, I began to wonder, how was the other games that the people in the thread was talking about? Reading more about them, I was amazed how I could have missed what seemed like some major open world RPG's during my gaming days. Determined to fill in the apparent void that I had in my life, and eager to find out was made people so very excited for Skyrim, I bought Oblivion on Steam to play through it now that I had a few weeks to spare (also since I'm going to start study game design this fall I wanted to see what I could learn from the game )
When starting the game, I thought: "I might as well stream this! It's a huge open world game, lots of content, people obviously love the game, and it seems like good fun!" (I've been following TotalBiscuit and his "WTF is" for a while now, and it looked fun and educational to me to comment your own play).
That was a week ago. I don't know the exact numbers, but since March I had gotten maybe 7 followers and 2,500 total views on my stream. Now, a week after starting to stream Oblivion, I have 39 followers (+1 on twitter) and 3,768 total views on my stream! xD I've gotten almost a third of my total views in less than a week! xD Not only that, today I had at the most 47 people watching simultaneously!!! 47!!! Compared to the max 3-4 before that's HUGE! xD
Though I'm noticing a change not only in the numbers - constantly commenting in english and talking with chat while I play has helped me get at least a little bit better in speaking in english, and a lot more fluently! Also, it's great fun, I'm enjoying this playthrough more than I've done with any game I've been sitting by myself with in a long time! So a big shoutout to the people that has been watching me play this past week - I hope I'll be able to be as entertaining in the future as well, and expect more games whenever I'm finished with Oblivion, including Skyrim once it hits the shelves! :D
Now I'm off to see Papa Toss pwn some noobs with special tactics on TL Attack! And to those that care: look forward to more updates on school and game design when I've started later this august!
TLDR;
