Free fun old school RPG game on Android.

I started on BBS(most people who are under 25 might not know what this is) playing Tele-Arena, MajorMUD etc. Those were one of the best gaming experience I've ever had even until today. BTW, those were text based games so everything was text and all the commands were entered with text. Anyway, I love those old school RPG type games and every couple year, I get urge to play those and go look for those type of games and I can never get the same satisfaction from the games I played before. Anyway, I downloaded an app called Gurk on my Droid Charge. It said it's a free 8-bit old school RPG and decided to give it a try. Oh man, the play system got me hooked right away. The learning curve was short and it was exactly the style of game that I was looking for. D&D style items(+2 short bow, +7 chain armor, etc.) and 3 different character styles that you could play it in a party. It took about 5-6 hours finish the game. I would love to buy this type of game if it was longer and if it was available on PC. If anyone is interested, here is the link CLICKY. If you know a very similar type of game on PC, please recommend it to me. As you can see, graphics are not an issue for me. BTW, I tried games like nethack and all those ascii based games. It's way too old school for me and the learning curve is huge.

endy Switzerland8970 Posts August 04 2011 06:51 GMT #2 If you want more you can play Gurk 2 for $1. I personally use the emulator Snesoid and play old school SNES RPGs, but I guess it's not old school enough for you
