Hi, TLers!
I've just bought my first game ever, and it is SC2!
I've been lurking on these forums for years now, and I've seen JulyZerg the God of War in his prime in BW. Since then, I became a SC:BW spectator. When SC2 was released, I hooked up to spectating SC2 as well. Now I've finally bought it!
I'll be tremendously happy to receive all kind of advises on what to do with my first game. Please feel free to post anything related to the OP in this blog! I'll try to keep it updated, as I progress though the game, single player and multiplayer alike.
Hip Hip Hooray!

Try to spend as little time as possible while doing each task. Assuming you play protoss, if you place a building, dont issue the order then watch it complete and then send the probe back. Just issue the order and shift order the probe back to mining and hurry to your next task and do it asap. Thanks folks! That's exactly what I'm gonna do! :D

Do your best to avoid ladder fear
Being scared of losing/winning/playing games can really take the fun out of it
Just enjoy yourself

You've been lurking since mid BW and this is the first game you have ever bought in your life? Holy hell

I can relate to that I only ever bought bw and sc2 (However I did buy bw 2-3 times)
My tip would be to just hit up the ladder and just play with the intention of having fun. Familiarize yourself with the hotkeys and feel out the units. Keep spectating games and just do whatever is fun. Many beginners i've seen and even golds and plats waste to much time when playing. Try to spend as little time as possible while doing each task. OK, it's been my third placement match, and I've won against a silver player in 1v1! Really scared to try them again. What if I roll gold the next time?.. I've won all my multilayer games so far, and it'll definitely be disappointing to lose the next one...

Never be afraid to try ^_^ You shouldn't be worried about where you place or what your division is- your only focus should be on having fun and winning
In that order!
